Surely there can't be anything coming out. If something does emerge, it shows how fkn useless the police force is.

Anyway - I think Tandy is going to slot in real well with our new forwards. He has some size and some anger when he runs, so hopefully he sticks around.

Tandy was great when he came into the team earlier in the year - this guy gets in and has a go no matter what, i hope we keep this guy.

Ryan Tandy arrested for alleged role in betting scandal

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/...d-role-in-betting-scandal-20110202-1ad7f.html

EXCLUSIVE

Bulldogs front-rower Ryan Tandy has been arrested by police for his alleged role in a betting sting on Canterbury's round-24 NRL match against North Queensland last year.

Detectives from the State Crime Command's Racing and Casino Investigation Unit are finalising their investigation into suspicious betting activity on the game, an inquiry that has this month used the powers of the NSW Crime Commission.

It is understood Tandy was arrested today.

His role in the match has been a centre of focus since betting agencies reported suspicious punting trends on the usually novelty option of the Cowboys to open the scoring with a penalty goal.

The alleged sting was ultimately unsuccessful after the Cowboys declined a chance to kick an easy goal after two minutes, and instead scored a try.

Tandy, who was penalised in front of the posts for lying on Cowboys half Grant Rovelli, strongly denied giving it away intentionally in an interview with the Herald published on August 28.

I'ts called justifying their bungles, they have to try and justify all the drama they stirred up, I would be surprized if he is convicted.

the cops must have confidence in what theyve got in order to go this far in a high profile case

they need to push it through a court so there must be something

also the arrest could be to put pressure for a roll over/confession type move
