So what, if Hetherington wants to stay then he stays, Mutual Option means both parties (us and him) have to agree and if he doesn't have a better offer then he has every right to stick around.

Cmon mate , stop taking the piss .. aren’t you sick of seeing sub standard players . These players you mentioned are at best bench NRL standard players . You want them in key positions.

Patolo looks like he has an elephant on his back , no agility or mobility for second row , I’ve yet to see him posses any ball skills a key requirement for second row

Yep Gus cant just pull a halfback out of his ass. Instead people just wanna say "We should have signed Reynolds" despite the fact he was never going to go to another Sydney club.

At least this year we will get to see some young halfbacks in NSW Cup. That will probably be our best bet given the money we have spent on Kikau and Mahoney. Alot will depend on whether we can clear some space by offloading the likes of Allan, Flanagan and maybe Thompson. If we can do that then there will be more money to spend on a halfback but like you said there are not many available options.

It will probably end up being someone stuck in NSW Cup in a team with strong halves (similar to how we got Burton). Otherwise you end up paying $750k for some plodder like Townsend

on what basis? he's probably tackled himself into the ground after so many years of football. he's set himself up for life after footy with a degree and hes got plenty of cash to follow through with life post football, maybe he will hang them up after this year?
