The Dragons have actually been quite smart in their recruitment under Griffen. A lot of the players they have signed on your list are actually be paid by their previous clubs . Most of the players they have moved on have been cancerous at the club. McInnes is probably the exception to that list as he is quality clubman and player. Sims whilst being a good player has rightfully been told as he is an older player on big money that they won’t be offering him a deal after his current one . They also have several highly promising juniors coming through. They look to be a team on the up tbh
Have you lost your mind? Griffin has he just signed that has been that never was Tautau Moga who has only played 74 first grade games since 2012 to play for the Dragons in 22 good luck getting value out of him, he might just play one more game than he did for Souths this year and make it two games played in 2022!

The Saints are doing a bang up job with their recruiting.....they're giving every tigers fan hope for the future. Out of these two dumb ass clubs you can't really tell who is going to suck the most. :grinning: On the other hand after having a rubbish roster for sooooo many years it's going to be great having our own roster that we can actually get behind!!!

Dragons recruitment compared to their retention is appalling. And tigers not much better.
Gives us hope to have a few teams below us next year

So tap sims but add McGuire?

Lose McInnes but add Mbye?

I don’t care what cows and tigpies chip in . Shocking business.

Knew when frizzle bailed they were on way down to be with us lol.

We thankful on way up and while they have got done good kids I think dufty and Vaughan will go alright with us and thanks largely to the fire dragons set.
@gibbo2 Bulldogs09's comment is pretty much the same sentiment my comment had. Let go of some decent players and buy players of less ability. Regardless of who is paying, they've replaced players with options that are worse than what they had. They may have juniors coming through, but they still wont be first grade ready this year and what they have signed, albeit cheaply, aren't up to top 8 standards which is more or less going to be a failure of a season yet again. Besides, all teams have to spend X amount out of their cap anyway, so it doesnt matter if players are being subsidised by other clubs, St George still have to spend that cap somewhere

Gosiewski Injury free is actually a really promising player. Runs decent lines. Very underrated
This signing's been confirmed today, another stellar purchase for the Red V :tearsofjoy:

I agree with part of what you’ve said. They have been good at getting players with other teams chipping in a chunk of their salary. Unfortunately this is also a necessity to balance the cap where they have paid overs for other players e.g Ben Hunt. Dragons haven’t been able to attract talent without paying big bucks so rely on their juniors to fill the gaps. It works if the players you are buying are decent and you supplement with quality juniors coming through however (and I’ll say it loosely) most players who have their old club chipping in to get rid of them are doing so for a reason. Dragons seem to be stuck in the mud with recruitment sadly like the tigers. We’ve only just managed to get out this year. Go Dogs.

Yes you can if injuries have set you back. Some players show promise and are late bloomers and others show promise but injury sets them back.
Can you be promising when you are 27 years old?

Moga was broken at the Knights, they couldn't wait to offload him. couldn't believe Souffs threw a contract his way, and now St Merge?

Does he still recognise what a footy looks like?

They are not paying much freight for all those players they have signed . Other clubs are paying the majority of the wages. I would say it’s smart recruitment to add in some experience that is being paid by other clubs to mix in with a host of promising juniors .
