Pay is a massive problem. Probably the biggest. He has shown sweet FA ability in coaching and getting the best out of his players. I can’t believe we were so stupid to extend him because we wanted everyone to feel settled knowing he’s remaining as coach. What’s his win/loss record now?
Not pretty whichever one you look at....

Calm down everyone, we lost to a far superior Manly team with superstars Brad Parker and Brendan Elliot and premiership winning coach Des Hasler.

It's time to put on your fancy gear and get ready for our million dollar man Moses Mbye. He is about to carve up the Roosters.:hearteyes::hearteyes: He was fantastic last week:tearsofjoy: ready for origin.
Mbyes having a night out tonight :D

Des will be proud by our performance because it was inspired by him obviously
I think these comments are getting old. Yes des ball is extremely ugly to watch. Yea it is not the style we want to play. But Dessie always has a winning formula. He knows how to win games. I am sorry, but Pay has been a big fail so far. He doesn’t know how to coach a win at all. Yes our team is shit (and we have come to this situation because of des) but Far out can we just look at pay’s win record. It is a joke.

Yeah and Melbourne lost to a park football sharks team give them the spoon.
2 tries each and 3 penalty kicks for manly.
That’s not the worst bit we have kept 2 teams in a row try less in the second half.
That "park football side" would give our side a flogging. You call Fifita, Gallen, Bukuya, Nikora, Townsend, Prior, Xerri, Katoa, Williams etc a park football sideThis Manly side were worse than that park football side. That park football side were missing a couple of players (Johnson who is hot and cold and Moylan) out of a star studded side and Manly were missing ALL of their best players...big difference. Storm underestimated them and got their pants pulled down but we can't win and had a perfect opportunity...and fucked it up as usual.

Agree. Sharks lost Johnson and they replaced him with Flanagan. Our halves together can't create what Flanagan creates on his own. So, wouldn't say that it was a huge loss. Media beats it up as its Shaun Johnson the messiah...the same bloke that has 3 good games in a season and gets paid overs for it.

If we want to analyze why we lost to a depleted Manly side we can find a ton of reasons why.
But if you want to find a convenient scapegoat , just watch the highlights reel of this game and it’s quite evident Okunbors efforts in defence went a long way in gifting Manly 2 competition points

That was obvious cause the Cowboys scored exactly th esame wat last week. You can turn a 747 Boeing faster than Okunbor and Des saw that and instructed his team to target him. He is not the answer for wing as he has no idea when to come in and when not too as well as having penis fingers in defence and attack. Unfortunately, he is too soft for the forwards as well...

It's embarrasing. How can a FG team open up like they do. I've never seen a team with such bad defence near their line out wide. Individuals at fault but seriously the defensive training and coaching in this area in particular are third rate.

For team morale's sake alone (even disregarding us supporter's faith) we can't keep leaking these tries week after week with dumb centre/winger defence.

The other Manly rookie winger Miski didnt do too well, let in 2, but only one was bad positional play.

Manly could’ve easily smashed us. We were lucky to be in the game honestly.

I don’t know where our points will come from.

Our most active playmaker on the field has played 3-4 first grade games.

We should always keep in perspective that we don’t have the cattle yet.

Just watching the replay of the Canterbury Cup and he just made a lovely run to get us out of trouble and offloaded to a support as well.

The problem will be the rules relating to development squad.. The rule reads that they can only go up ( prior to June 30) IF there is no other player available in the top 30 to cover the applicable position and they have NRL permission; after June 30 they can go up without permission......

https://www.bulldogs.com.au/news/2018/11/26/bulldogs-finalise-their-squad-for-2019/

The Bulldogs are pleased to announce Tui Katoa, Morgan Harper, James Roumanos and Jarred Anderson as the club's development players for this season.
Round 17 then. We are no hope this year, may as well give him ago and others like Renouf and wakeham as well.

We lost a game that was easily winnable. The refereeing was again attrocious. When our forwards got us rolling Perenara halted them with piggyback penalty after piggyback penalty. The penalties slowed down for a while until we got within 6 points, then they were gifted two kicks in front.

My worst gripe is the forward passes that weren't picked up. In the first 7 minutes of the second half I saw 4. And the penalty where Smith or hoppa jostled while chasing the kick was on the back of a forward pass to the kicker. Almost every penalty we got was on the first tackle from deep in our half. Almost every penalty manly got was late in the tackle count when it was hugely beneficial. Sadly we haven't gotten a beneficial refereeing decision all season unless we're already out of the game.

Having said all that, we had plenty of chances. Our finishing options are just poor at times. Cogger is looking good, but Lewis was poor tonight. I do like his spirit, but he made some poor decisions. I think he's feeling some pressure and it's showing in his performance. Holland threw a few terrible passes and seems frustrated too. JMK is going well and I'd be happy with him playing 80. For all the good things Okunbor does, he has some shocking errors in him. Our defence out wide needs plenty of work. All considered if we were able to get repeat sets we might trouble more sides. But right now the inexperience of our spine is killing us. It's turning into a long season as a fan.
