See that’s where footy IQ needs to come into play

Holland should have swapped with Smith and defended that set on the wing
It was his left shoulder so that would mean he would have to defend with his crook shoulder.

Would have been fine on that wing for one set

To be fair if he had played the ball correctly the set prior he would not have been in that predicament

Are you talking about the play the ball where he puts his foot on the but it doesn't roll? If so it was one of the weakest penalties I've seen. Before he got hurt he was running with intent and speed. He was tackling fine and positionally was where he needed to be. Getting beaten by a centre who is one of the best attacking centres going around is not that big a shock. Mightn't like it but it isn't one of the biggest fails on the footy field. He's been good all year. The way some people have been carrying on you would think he has been singularly responsible for all our losses this year. He's a budget player playing above his paygrade. Good on him.

Yup that one.

I actually think he looks better this year but I’m not going to ignore the poor game he had defensively

Olive had a similar one against Titans defensively as well

Just calling it like it is

Hopefully he plays better defensively this weekend because as you said his offensive game was fine

Ps I don’t rate Croker in the top 5 centres in the game to be honest.

But we have a habit of making him look like a reincarnated Steve Renouf lol (especially ‘tis year)

I appreciate you are backing Holland and Pay despite the defence issues from the weekend but MY honest opinion is that the defence shown on Croker was shithouse

Pay must hate brown he even put jmk and Holland at dummy half before brown.
I can't understand why we've had Woolford 4 so long and never played him in FG? He is a specialist dummy half and seems to kill it in reserves, Pay should give him a go, you never know he could be another hidden talent like Lewis, Martin & j king. We have nothing to lose now.

He was as bad or worse than Olive. Yet he looks to survive but Olive gets dropped....

I agree his treatment of brown is beyond a joke and that lichha should not be in first grade but i do believe jmk can be a very good 9 hes tough passes well and can tackle

I rate jmk at 9 or centre. At centre, he can be jmoz ish, with defence, and he has a bit of toe.

Cook is former beach sprint champion. He has speed and acceleration to burn. Licha is an overweight plodder who can hardly raise a trot. And even when he does it is almost always sideways across the field. Cook to carve them up on Saturday - if he has any petrol left after origin. I am still bitter they let him go. Silliest decision since Thurston. And while on origin, for a young player, Klemmer looks stiff and hardly bends when "tackling". What is wrong with him? The key once more on Saturday is DEFENCE. Don't give me the nonsense that they had good defence under Hasler. They went downhill in defence in each. Defence is a weapon that has to be used. Look at Queensland last night. Learn how to win without the ball. That is what defence is about. You spend just as much time without the ball than with the ball. Move up - line speed - tackle with force - the play the ball is the advantage line. And while on force in the tackle, Force is mass times acceleration. If you are not accelerating (driving) into a tackle but standing still and waiting for the ball carrier, the force is zero. Worse, when the defenders start moving back towards their own line. The reason the Raiders scored at the end was because the dogs stopped moving up in defence.

True that. Brown makes one mistake and gets hooked back to the bench. Lich is Lich and he keeps getting chances.
Part of the reason could be they are trying to get rid of Lichaa and dropping him won't attract interest or a good enough price to take him off our hands

And that's a better option than thoroughly demoralising the team and whole fan base? ;)
