Meany was going well at fb and we are short on centres so sg puts hoppa at fb and meany on wing fmd ,im surprised dwz hasn’t been tried previously at centre ,a more simple role for him to run hard score and set up trys

Yeah he is also shocking in getting to kicks behind the line .. he has no speed or anticipation.. people don't realize how bad his lack of speed and poor positioning in defence really is..

on talkin sport, Tunksy keeps saying doueihi is to slow to play fullback... Hoppa makes doueihi seem like usain bolt..

100%. I have been saying this for the few seasons.

Hoppa defensively is no god at fullback. Way to slow and never seems to be able to get across to kicks in goals or even wingers scoring in the corner.

Meaney has some good attributes for a FB, I've seen him save try's by running down some much bigger players, he is at least as reliable as Hoppa under the high ball, and Hoppa is the best centre we have, what does it say GREAT COACHIG and thank you SG.
If the club doesn't sign a better FB next year Meany must be allowed to play and develop their, IMHO he does have some up side at FB but not on the wing.
As for been rag doled, he is much more likely to be rag doled playing on the wing, while at FB he could be trained to back up in the middle if any of our forwards can be taught to offload of course. I'm convinced that Meany and Avo are by far, the fasters players currently at the club.

I watched him play 6 this year and he scored a try and set up 2 ?

I only remember one of the tries he setup but I also remember he outclassed Cogger (even with the limited touches he had) - even Soward, who was commentating the game, was raving about him

Not sure how he'd go in FG but this is our chance to see if he has what it takes

So, If Barrett plays Hoppa at FB and meaney at wing, instead of Meaney FB and hoppa centre(who was on the team of the year 2019 AS A CENTRE!), then im writing barrett off from round 1! i dont care! It must be a permanent change and something that shows barrett knows what he is doing. Hoppa is NOT A FB! he is the most boring and slowest player ive ever seen play at FB.

He literally our best full back, hes also our best centre. Meaney is okay but not better than Hoppa. This is a response to you saying Hoppa is not a fullback. He is.

I have been saying this for yonks and have been berated over it. Some people just cannot accept reality.

Avo doesn't have a good passing game from what I've seen. He better just focus on his running game and support play. Would love to see someone step up and be that Terry Lamb type player that is always on the ball and supporting players. Its non existent in this team. Meaney to FB, and hoppa to centre and Smith to the wing so dwz doesn't have to deal with bombs, and this is the best we can do with the cattle we have.

Given Baa was Barrett's favourite player, I hope he gets him in for some training sessions with whoever our 5/8th is next year. Even just to talk footy and to encourage them along!

Yup, he is clearly running on the smell of an oily rag in the confidence stakes, got to simplify things for him for him and bring on board a few other strategies to try and get some enthusiasm and confidence in the playing group. Nothing beats winning of course, but that hasn't happened for a while...

I hope he doesn't. There's roles for people like Lamb around clubs but i'd prefer to leave the coaching to specialists.

If anyone in the backline has an injury or HIA, Averilo plays the utility role and wakeham plays in the halves. And if Lewis is having a shocker then he is hooked and Wakeham replaces him.
