COREY Parker and James Roberts face nervous waits after lashing out in two separate incidents that are bound to be scrutinised by the match review committee.

While Broncos coach Wayne Bennett scoffed at suggestions his star centre would face a charge for kicking out at Titans bench forward Ryan Simpkins, the MRC showed with its treatment of Sam Kasiano, who was suspended for two weeks for kicking out at Parker in the Broncos’ clash with the Bulldogs in round 24, that it is prepared to rub players out for aggressive off the ball acts.

Roberts kicked out in frustration in the 51st minute as Simpkins lay in the ruck trying to stop a quick play the ball and slow a Broncos attack.

Brisbane scored on the same play as the controversial play the ball but even though the bunker reviewed the try, the review did not go back as far as the play the ball, so the Roberts kick was missed and the try was awarded.

The Parker incident came just six minutes later, with the grey haired veteran tangling with Ryan James in a niggly scrum, before swinging around with his head and connecting with the Titans star.

A suspension to either Parker or Roberts would be a massive blow to the Broncos’ hopes of beating the loser of the Storm-Cowboys qualifying final next weekend and Bennett said he’d be shocked if anything came of the incidents.

“I doubt that will come under scrutiny,” Bennett said. “I saw what (Roberts) did, but if that’s a charge ... they are never going to charge that.”

Of course the beanpole thought differently when it wasn't one of his players who kicked. Don't like cheering for players to get wiped out but if that was the end to Parkers career it would be fitting.

If they (especially Roberts) don't get a week a least after Kasiano, then.... I just don't know anymore

If memory serves me well the Broncos are still NRL property. Parker and Roberts will not even be cited by the judiciary. It's not like the NRL give a fuck about appearing fair and consistent.

They will get off, apparently you can kick a player while he is on the ground in the back/ribs and still be awarded a try. If you are a Broncos player of course, thow shall not contest a kick against the Broncos, you will be penalised

It's the Broncos and Grandpa Bennett . . . both will get off. They had the referees on their side last night and both the MRC and judiciary will be the same.

Has Roberts got carry over points at all? He'll get off if he doesn't.

Robert's was worse than Kas's in my opinion, Kas kicked blindly backward, Roberts looked down and laid the boot in
Correct, Ecca. Roberts looked at the player then deliberately kicked him. Kas lashed out without looking. Which is deserving of 2 weeks on the sideline? They will use the Graham incident to argue that Roberts kicking out was a reaction. Roberts is one of the Bronco's excitement machines; there is too much money involved for him to be suspended. The NRL will wait to cite a Bulldogs player on Sunday to counter the argument that they are soft on players in the finals.

Roberts looked down at his target and kicked the shit out of him. Kas couldn't even see his target and got 2 weeks. In a non-corrupt world that would mean Roberts gets 2-3 weeks

And fuck Parker, hope he doesn't even play his final game

P.sterling was talking about the first try broncos scored and he said in the books it was a try and laughed, well in the books it's a head butt by Parker and in the books it was a kick by Roberts for eveyone to see, surely they should get suspended by the books if not their not fooling anyone.....

Roberts kicked out in frustration in the 51st minute as Simpkins lay in the ruck trying to stop a quick play the ball and slow a Broncos attack.

Roberts was on his feet and kicked out DELIBERATELY....TWICE at the player on the ground. At no time was he NOT looking at Simpkins. The referees did not see it? Come on, obviously doing a check of the TAB account I suppose. Really two pairs of eyes in the centre, two pairs on the sideline, three upstairs and they could not see it? No wonder there are questions being asked of the integrity of the officials.

The coach for the Titans was very restrained in his comments I thought and I applaud him for mentioning each and every dirty little thing that happened in a way in which his integrity cannot be questioned nor a charge of sour grapes levelled at him. We all saw it, the commentators all saw it unfortunately the people that matter did not.

As for Wayne Bennett he needs a quick trip to OPSM and a visit to a specialist if he thinks that there was nothing in the incident. No matter whether or not he was frustrated he should not have done it , FULL STOP and if I am correct I believe that that is exactly what was said about the Kasiano one on his beloved lapdog. Skeletor was not saying anything other than Kasiano should be charged and carried on like a dickhead by proclaiming that his man ( Corey) was not at the press conference because he was having stitches inserted in a facial gash.

If schooner boy is not cited and suspended then the NRL is one step closer to showing that it is nothing but a completely inept, corrupt agenda driven body

“I doubt that will come under scrutiny,” Bennett said. “I saw what (Roberts) did, but if that’s a charge ... they are never going to charge that.”
The inmates are running the institution Wayne. You doubt; I bet you do. Can't afford to have schooner boy suspended now can we when the club itself dealt out just enough punishment for his little alcohol fuelled incident to be excused by the NRL.

Dubious decisions, bloody disgraceful and inexcusable decisions.

It was 8 - 4
Yes it was; but there was the inevitable attempt to even up once the game was gone. First half penalties 4-1 to Broncos and second half 4-3.

Do they supply blinkers to all Broncos fans? Obviously your coach uses them. Few ones in this selection are even in the right colours.
