I reckon its more the NRL and NRL pushing the media to hype it up so more people attend, its a bragging rights thing for them plus riding us to a break record for a mid season game crowd that isn't origin

Some of it goes to us as bonus's for reaching particular crowd sizes. Part to the stadium who provide us a guaranteed minimum for playing games at the stadium when at times it would have made a loss. Think those wintery wet games without origin players. I think we get all the corporates which would be huge at a game like this.

I think Sutton got put on a pedestal by Greenberg after that ugly day as he was the NRL Head Honcho . They had the opportunity to choose someone else the following year, however, chomped at the opportunity to use the incident as good theatre and reappointed him on rinse repeat.
Mind you, though, the person in the bunker that day is solely to blame, and no one remembers him. I certainly don't.
