The pride of the league……..media need to check facts and report truth. Arrow has come out and said there was nothing in it and that his passion got the better of him. Shoe on the other foot and spectator moved menacingly towards Arrow. Could you imagine the hoo ha. Needs to have a thicker skin. His team mate Dodds saw nothing wrong in what happened and was not at all phased.
Go back to Black Friday, when a fan threw a bottle at a touch judge. It was TERROR IN THE STANDS, and demands for Dogs to be penalised and our fans to be policed heavily.

Moving on - one of the Burgess brothers throws a bottle onto the field because he was upset over a decision, and it was media protection because of his passion for the game.

This week's SMH article read like the journalist was a South's fan, pissed off that the NRL's darlings didn't get the win they so deserved over the nasty Dogs. The comments to the article were hilarious, especially the Knights fan who had every excuse why they were dudded.

Watching the games so far this weekend, none of the players on big money are doing anything for their teams.

Latrell is lazy and disinterested. Hunt was a disaster for the Broncos.
It's because they don't have the culture of club first, team second, individual third.
Of course you have to get what you're worth, but chasing really big coin is individual first.

True but with clubs dumping players etc it is hard to think loyalty is reciprocal...the players be thinking get all I can.

Gus and Ciro have kinda started something good along those lines.

Guys can be confident they'll get what they are worth to the club ...and importantly to their team mates also...bc if they get too much they can see that they disrupt what the club can offer someone else who might be vital to the success of the roster and there isn't infinitum money to throw around. And they all want to compete for a Premiership.

Also they can see that sometimes signings don't work out or that guys do outgrow what Gus can offer on the salary cap, however, Gus does seem to look after those players and no one so far has been what we could call " dudded" by the club.

It must be a juggling act sorting it all with so many vested interests and issues. We know we have the most experienced guy in the league handling it for our club tho.

I think it's split every year regardless of who's home game it is
Correct. The two clubs agreed on this years ago in an effort to build Good Friday into an annual event that made it worthwhile for both clubs. The home team also gets $100k from Accor so that’s not a bad day at the office for the Dogs corporately not to mention the result, the PR etc.

Had a sneaky schooner( or 10) yesterday walked out to the smoking section a dude in his dogs gear is watching the replay, so I as I say go the dogs I get a huge hug lol he said its about the 4th time he has watched the game, still cheering it on as if it was live.the dude was so pumped having a ball and was so happy ,seeing that made me shed a tear of joy lol

All the commentators saying BRONCOS will be a real test next week must not have predicted them getting beat by the WARRIORS, but REECE WALSH can kick a football well maybe a little too good suck shit I say

Unfortunately Walsh has a knee injury and most likely won’t play. I say unfortunately because he has been putrid and a liability. Would be good for us if he plays.

Seeing the team going so well brings back the Bulldog DNA and bond we share and we def gonna be seeing a lot more of our jerseys around and about now lol

The ticketek website said the opposition supporters bay aka the burrow was allocation exhausted. There were plenty of gaps from the get go. On tv their support looked z as catered at gets. Only heard the south Sydney chant once early on , then nothing.
I think probably 2000 bunnies supporters maybe less

Yeah I really want him to play. Hopefully he recovers in time.

A FB post re Trell lol

"The bludger vs Bulldags I watched the vermin for 80 minutes and this is the "Passenger Trelmit's" effort in defence. 8 min mk; missed tackle attempt, they push on quickly and score. 10 min; he flops onto the back of the already tackled player in the ruck. 24 min; Chrighton stands in his weak tackle and easily offloads. 21min: he catch's the easy cross field kick on the fifth tackle and then pass's it straight to his team mate who is off side giving the dogs the ball back on their line. 28th min; effective two man tackle. AND that's it !!!! not one tackle in the second half!!
How can he get away with it? His team mates must be spewin".

Still dont think that’s fair! It should have been split 90/10. There was a minority of those scummy supporters at that stadium
It’s just typical of Souths, they have always benfitted from things like this. I remember a few years back when they regained the most members in the competition stat but it was heavily padded with 3 game memberships that no one else used at the time.

Great points. I believe Gus and CC are building a virtuous cycle to help with player retention and recruitment. Starting with the correct culture, investing in the juniors (at home and in Fiji) with potential and valuing the supporter base.

Gus and CC cranked it up to the next level with the walk from the hotel and $10 tickets. We are the only supporter base in the league that would support something like that en masse in a round 7 game. We have something that no other supporter base has. For the club and team to see how they have a direct positive effect to the community will give immense motivation to keep high standards and indirectly, will help player retention and recruitment for players for what they are worth and how they are performing rather than having to offer a contract of $1.3M for 10 years.

Good things ahead!

I remember that actually, it’s disgusting! Kind of takes away their “pride of the leauge” title as they call themselves with no supporters showing up.

Good Friday match, 4pm game and $10 tickets and still couldn’t fill their side.

When we play them again the away bays will be decked out in Blue and White

100% and they were doing well this year too. We have outnumbered or at least matched them in every year even the wooden spoon ones. Imagine how little will come when they drop to the bottom 4 again one day. I’ve started to hate them even more than Parramatta lately, you can kind of feel sorry for that club but Souths love to rub their success in your face .

Retention in years to come is gonna be the issue. Players are buying into something special which helps for now. Its wen we win a comp or two that players may then change priorities. Similar to panther, will be a sad day when this time arrives.

Yeah I see it all over social media..

“What happened in 2014”
“How many premierships you got vs us”

I dont really care what happened in the past, all that matters is that we’re winning games and keeping teams to 0 or 2 tries or less. They can hate all they want, the results on the ladder show and no one can stand it.

We’re back Berries! Only up from here
