Rnd 4 vs Sharks @ Shark Park - Sat 29 March 7.50pm

Where this theory comes apart for mine is we won Good Friday games in 2016 and 2017 after the 2015 controversy, which we really need to let go. If we’re good enough the referee doesn’t matter and I expect we’ll prove that in a couple of weeks…
As long as Reggie the Rabbit contains himself.

I think you’ll find that the 2016 and 2017 Good Friday games we won, were NOT refereed by Gerard Sutton. I seem to recall Cummins did one of them, not sure which one.

As an ex referee I find it staggering that any club has a win/loss percentage of about 12.5% since 2015, under any particular referee. To me that screams agenda.

I sound like a broken record but at key moments in games Sutton has a history of making game changing decisions that go against us. The decision not to sin bin Isiah Tass just before half time in last years Good Friday game for a clear professional foul in our attacking 20, when he deemed a penalty was sufficient is a case in point.

I don‘t think we have won a Good Friday game under his watch since the infamous blow up of 2015.

My hope is that in our bye week, Sutton referees South’s V Cowboys, because based on a lot of history the NRL and before that the ARL very rarely allocate a referee to the same team 2 weeks in a row.

After last week, Reed will have to be on his best behaviour for some time. He needs not to react to niggling because he will be closely scrutinise.

I truly have this thing with the NRLols obsession having the refs help the home team just to give the atmosphere for the crowd. If it was about consistency we would of had new refs debut the last 5 years lol

Home ground special refs are not a recent development. They’ve been around for years. Home crowds are well aware of which referees they can put pressure on to make favourable decisions. It seems more prevalent when opposing teams come from different cities.

Everyone is entitled to their view but the broken record thing is true - not just of you, but many Bulldog fans. It was 10 years ago. I would say for 6 of those years (2018-2023) we simply weren’t good enough, no matter who refereed. This is the first year since 2017 (when we won Good Friday for being the better team) that I think we will win. Because we are better (and Souths are weaker, which helps). Even Bupa admitted the blow up was wrong and Klemmer is still a hot head today no matter who he plays for. I don’t see the club whinging about referee bias - why do the fans?

It's just so wrong that Reed never gets a break simply bc of his niggle reputation. It just proves that refs are biased and can take a dislike to certain players...no matter the circumstance and even if they are in the right.

That shows me they are corrupted in those instances and not refereeing in the "spirit of the game".

When I was refereeing Junior League albeit many years ago, we had meetings once per month, and referees would pass on tips to each other about the idiosyncrasies of particular players they have encountered. I’m sure this would be the same at NRL level.

Mods I want to be coloured, I'll behave pls

Last time we met at the warriors vs dogs last year we said the exact same thing !
