Can I be both? I have a winning record, a GF win, 2 GF losses and made the finals every year until I retired. Lol

My record is similar.

Took over a team as a coaching team with my youngest son. I concentrated on defence, he did the attack.

Previous year they were last. Defence improved to around 14 points per game as opposed to 30 the previous year. We got them up into fourth and lost an elimination semi final.

Lost the GF the following year, and then won the next two GF’s against the same team. Then we both retired, but several players in that team are now coaching and have GF wins under their belt.

PS like you, I have always been defence orientated. Always told the boys "anyone can score a try, not everyone can stop one".

No team can win a GF if they have leaky defence. It took them half of the first season for the team to understand the sliding defensive pattern. A couple of years later we taught them the umbrella defence, but that requires a higher level of fitness, particularly for the outside backs.
 
teams like the Titans really make me realise how great it is to have Ciraldo. The best thing about Cam is how stable everybody looks, and they all know their jobs. I mean yeah there was the Crichton into the halves thing, which of course won't happen again, but the Titans have two fullbacks in the halves ffs... they are a circus.

It is difficult to manufacture a halfback who usually plays another position.

it just takes me back to our pre-Ciraldo days. I always thought Brimson was their biggest threat, but now his development has been stunted because they keep moving him. And then you have D Fifita riding the bench for an entire half.
