Rnd 18 team

I watched the reserve grade game live. Some observations:
  • As mentioned above, Sam Hughes only played about half a game and came off with an ankle injury. Hobbled to the sheds at fulltime. He looked pretty good but struggled a bit laterally in defence
  • Blake Taffe was pretty good
  • Jack Todd was very impressive, ran hard tackled hard and looked fit and hungry, he didn't appear hampered by his arm
  • Jack Underhill tried hard but didn't have the impact of Todd
  • Mitch Woods was pretty impressive, he overplayed his hand at times but he'll keep getting better. He was very tough in defence
  • Blake Wilson was pretty good but didn't get a lot of opportunities
I really like Todd. The sooner he’s back in first grade the better.

I get it but I just don’t see them doing that
It makes sense to us as the best fit to get our best available players into the team but Ciro doesn't often select the team like us lol.

So the side is close to this:
Tracey
Wilson/Tuala
Xerri
Sua/Tuala
Burton
Sexton
Hayward
Preston
Kikau
Hughes/Todd
Mahoney
Curran

Galvin
Todd (Hopoi if Hughes injured)
Hayes
Morrin

Moving Burton to centres can't be ruled out. A backline reshuffle to start Galvin would possibly bring Woods to the bench.
So could it be a choice between Woods and Sua/Tuala?

Tuala has been out of action for most of the year. Don't think I would risk bringing him into first grade against the likes of Katoni

Broncos got better depth than us recalling likely Mariner and Cobbo who were both there when they beat us last time

Payne obviously a massive loss but we lose King

They still have Mam too

Tough game coming especially of Ciro puts Taffe centre and Turpin bench and switched our backs unnecessary changes
I will vomit if I see Turpin on the team sheet again. Better off giving Underhill a crack or put Luke Smith on again.

Or Woods.
Ciraldo says it is good to try out different things.
Well here is his chance.
Has to be a better idea than swapping Kiraz and Montoya.
10-20 minutes with Galvin at 6 and Sexton at 9.

I understand the logic in the backline player being able to play both sides, but why not try it against the tigers or dragons instead of the panthers? Critta would have had more opportunities with Kiraz next to him than Montoya who is not as familiar with him and people are saying that Mclean is the next superstar now because of that performance which is putrid.

However, Ciro did love Hayze Perham because he could talk on the field and played him for pretty much the whole season. Don't understand the logic in some of his decisions. He must see something that we don't.

Ciro does see things mere mortals can't.
I watched McLean closely because of the Crichton match up.
Panthers were able to put numbers on Crichton yet he still nearly got through them.
Without watching the game again to check, I don't recall McLean having three or four defenders on his back, like Crichton was dealing with.

Turpin was absolutely awful in our game against Dolphins
He was bad in the bunnies game as well. Ciro is trying his best to clone Turpin into Mann - even trying to match the haircuts. Turpin may be satisfactory for 10 minutes but after that he clearly gets fatigue and he becomes ill-discipline. Give me Hopoi, Underhill, Hughes or Smith instead.

CC has to take the plunge and put Galvin at 6 for the rest of the year and Burton in the centres, Xerri to wing and Montoya to make way after Origin. I don't think we can win the comp with Burton and Sexton as the halves and 2 lightweight guys on the bench. Burton was a Dally M centre but he ain't a Dally M 6.
Friday is a good test and will probably decide how CC goes ahead this season.

CC has proved he is the real deal so I'll support him.

Does not matter who we pick at this stage, we just need a half to dominate and ice the big games to go to the next level!
Who gives a rats ass who plays we just need to get it Farken done!!!!

From recollection the game v Souths Ciro shuffled the bench and Hipoi went to 18th man. He had been playing really well the last several weeks before that. Yes Ciro wants Turpin to play the Mann type role but he's not good enough. All those you mentioned should be selected before Turpin.
