The last few weeks I've had to listen to Crowbar to cheer me up after watching the Dogs. I hope that's not the case, and the boy win or put up a valiant effort... but the pessimist in me (my major trait) tells me not to get my hopes up.

Me , moroondog and other realist would continue to hold fort and be the voice of the reason no matter what . lol

Win , lose or draw , always a bulldog .

There is no other option.
 
They should go out throw caution to the wind and play what’s infront of them .

What can go wrong ? We lose another game ? So what , we are winning anyway .

The recruitment by Gould has been atrocious.

There is some validation to what you are saying. We overachieved for the quality of the squad last year playing all out attack in defence. Anyone could be next man up because everyone trained for this magical defensive structure.

The underestimation of the cleanup work Reed did through the middle. Is glaringly not there with Hayward.

In what was a 100% defensive structured game plan. The tweaks to the speed of play is creating fatigue in the game that breaks our defensive structure. It leads to all teams (except us) scoring way more try’s.

For our game style to work we are reliant on almost perfect completions. We rely on a big kick with a great chase to pin the opponent in a corner. (Why isn’t Burton kicking this season?)

Our middle get dominated either side of the ball and because of this Burtons kicking game is crucial to field position. We have gone away from this.

Long story short it is both Ciraldo & Gus in the cross hairs. Our recruitment is a shambles with the balance in the squad so bad. Which is Gus. Ciraldo’s failure to adjust to how the game is played in 2026 Is squarely on him. He keeps doing what worked last year and expecting it to work. He doesn’t have to coaching knowledge to adjust the team sheet and game plan to win games in the 2026 edition of how the game is played.
