there is no widely accepted, objective standard to judge the greatest of all time... some look at honours (eg. Pele winning 3 WCs, 2 Libertadores Cups etc.), others as to completeness (eg. Di Stefano --> Charlton and Best both said that he was the most complete footballer they had ever seen), some look at longevity (eg. Cristiano), recency bias (eg. Messi) etc.
but when it comes to peak, no player has ever achieved the level of play Maradona did in 1986... out of this world
