Surely Tolman won't get an re-signed, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit considering who we've re-signed already, and the excuse for re-signing Tolman will be 'we need stability, experience'!!!
oh wow imagine that lol

never thought of this I just assumed he will be gone soon

Another short term deal...
Should be IMO.
no one is playing well enough on our team to warrant a long term deal.
Might've been instigated by him, too. Maybe he's not 100% sold on the direction we're heading.

Tolman's finished, there is no way he's re-signed.
What it would boil down to if he is re-signed is coach Pay prefers what Tolman offers over what Renouf offers going forward.

RT is 24 now. If he can't dislodge Tolman for a fg starting spot then he should be asking for a release as well.

And that dear Bulldogs supporters, would sum up the state the club is in.

I agree with him getting a short term deal, but it's more about the amount of short term deals that are currently being signed off on at the club. It's like we can't think of anything better..

Liked what he did off the bench through the middle last year, like most am keen to see more time on the field for some of the younger forwards

In the team balance scenario I like the 2 year contract cycle, it is short enough such that if the player doesn't work out they can be let go without much cost. It is also short enough so that if the player does work out better than expected their contract can be upgraded quickly, minimising player discontent. It is also long enough so that any time prior to November you can resign them before the poachers are allowed to move in.

Obviously some players deserve and/or demand more than 2 years, but I'm not a fan of contracts longer than 3 years unless the player is exceptional.

Or because they can’t actually deliver any decent signings? The inability to sign one of the hookers available last season is a perfect example of our team’s impotence

Pretty much that. They kept telling us 2021 was the year yet we look to have missed out once again, wonder what the excuse is this time? Unless we sign someone from England our recruitment is dead because it's close to non existent here in Australia ATM.

Again, trying to understand the logic.. Why keep re-signing players who can't play more than 20 minutes a game on a bottom four team?

I like RFM and don't mind us re-signing him. But if he can't play decent minutes now then the club can't rate him too highly?

Either way, he's a solid player. But if he's worth keeping then isn't he worth playing more than garbage time minutes?
The problem has been that the coaching staff haven’t utilised his size ,speed ,strength’, he also had an off load. The fact we haven’t had a game plan or structure has made him (along with other forwards) ineffective. He’s always been condsidered a stop gap & fill in. With this reshuffle the team is playing with purpose. As he increases his game time & fitness,he could be more devastating than CHN on that edge.

He's been under utilised for sure. I think CHN has more skill but RFM can offload quite well also. And he's a better defender than CHN. Hopefully Raymond makes that spot his own the rest of the season.

Keep putting your faith in a player who has been with us for 5 years and still has'nt had a break out game

RFM is not the future, he is just keeping a seat warm until we move on all these mediocre players over the next 2 seasons

Rubbish. He's been misused by the coach. When fit and given an opportunity he is a great inclusion and definitely a keeper. Still young for a backrower. Best years ahead of him.

It doesn't work that way sweet cheeks.

Stop over dramatizing consistently
