I don't see any quotes from Gus in that article

Pure speculation

He tweeted something the other day about the contract. Said He’s in there plans and there letting him get more game time before putting a value on him. I’m guess a 1 year deal?

With Kikau coming where does this leave RFM.. ?
You're not gonna pay him anything more than minimum wage as a backup
Or he has to move to the front row

Him and Kiks should make a devastating combo. Salivating for next season.
Especially if we learn how to deliver the sort of ball that Kikau's getting at Penrith. Mahoney will help but we still need a half.

Absolutely deserves it!
He wouldn't be out of place in the company of Maison and the Oger.

Keep him for cheap. I mean No more the 500. He can go if he gets offered more which I doubt. He has played bugger all games for us as he is so injury prone. If your paying good money then you want value

A good chance Jackson starts on the edge, RFM on the bench I reckon.
Yh maybe, don't mind continuing with Jackson starting on an edge and shifting to the middle.

On the right hand edge. where he has always been.

If he is starting on the right then why is he a "backup"? A player starting on the bench, in the 17, isn't a "back up" either.

Or he has to move to the front row
He might, but he doesn't have to. We need an right side edge back rower and we need 2 back rowers off the bench.

RFM can play right side. We don’t have many edge forwards at the club. I don’t think he’ll break the bank, maybe 200-250K. 1 year deal. Minimal risk.

RFM has always been on the left?

I don't know why he played on the left for us but he was always a right edge backrower or lock when coming through the grades.
Yep, I remember when he first had his debut for us (I remember this because he was busting tackles and had his arms free for offloading but no one backing him up)

But the majority of times for us, he's played on the left. The problem is, he's been great as a bench prop too!!!

Wherever we play him, as long he's fit, he's a great asset for us.

And remember Pay dropped RFM for that dope elliot FFS!

He has probably been out on the left as that's usually where the strike players play. Personally I think he's best through the middle, then right edge and then left edge. He probably starts the year on the right and then shifts to the middle when a better option comes along.
