The fact it's all gone quiet tells me one thing.

Dogs have given him permission to talk with other clubs.
Dogs will let him go if he can secure a deal at another club.
Dogs won't want to contribute to his salary
Dogs will not re sign him past current contract.

Addo carr will still be a bulldog in 2025 unless another club is willing to take him for current value.

Dogs will not sack him.
That’s 90% true, other than not contributing to his 2025 salary because the Dogs know that if they ask any other club to pick up full freight that significantly reduces the chances of a deal being done.

You said ONE thing, right? You just mentioned 5 things :grinning:

With the noise growing louder about Ben Hunt Not being at the Dragons next year but released only in a player swap deal, I think we are one of few clubs that can facilitate a deal.

Both Fox & Hunt are only contracted for the 2025 season.
They take Fox at full freight for 2025 and we take Hunt at full freight for 2025.

To make the Hunt Deal better value, make it a deal for 2026 as well at a much reduced rate.

Hunt becomes our new 14 to relieve Mahoney from his brain fades and not having to play the full 80, but Hunt also fills the lock position as he does for QLD.
Hunt is also there to provide cover for Sexton but most importantly to guide & mentor him & Woods.... Just like Maloney at Panthers.

The healthiest thing at any club is competition for spots..... do you think Mahoney & Sexton will improve with Hunt up there clacker???

In the mean time, Hutchinson goes back to the Roosters to help cover their loss of Walker for the year.

Roosters would also be gunning for Hunt, but I don't think they can offer up what the Dragons would want in a swap deal.

At least we know that the Dragons want Fox, this puts us in pole position - even though Flanagan would hate doing business with us.

The most Important question of all is -

Would This Deal make us a stronger more genuine premiership contender for the 2025 title or not???

Hunt won't come here to play 14 he'll be starting with burton in the halves, that is if we do end up swapping fox for hunt.

You may be right Chemdog, but IMO to get the best out of Ben Hunt and the best out of our squad for the next 2 years, I would play him at 14.

On March 3 next year Ben Hunt will turn 35 years of age and although it may sound strange to most, I believe that we would get more out of him by playing him for less minutes. But as I said, this is only my opinion.

Hunt is a much better halfback than Sexton. And a much better dummy half than Mahoney. If we sign him he plays 7 or 9 and starts every game.

So essentially the club could sack Fox if we wanted but instead we're trying to "help him out" while looking to ship him off to another club and get a player in return. We're currently not interested in any off contract players and already well under cap for this coming season so immediately freeing up space doesn't help us.

which makes me think he'll stay for next season

You could be right and you're entitled to your opinion Micko, as am I.

But when it counts the only opinions that matter will be those of the selection committee, Ciraldo, Gus and their staff.
