Wouldn't want him to be honest, he saves his best for origin but is mediocre at club level, problem is you pay for origin Gagai and get a far inferior product.

A quality centre he is not, he also not a speedster by any means and is defensively terrible in the centres. He's a good ball running winger who can finish well and steps up at origin level, if he was a quality centre do you really think Braidon Burns would be preferred to him at centre?

He ran the length during Origin just last week keeping a distance with Addo Carr

The intercept Gagai already had a 10m head start and was in full flight before Josh Addo Carr has to stop, turn and chase from a standing start.
A few years ago he took an intercept and almost got run down by Frizell, there was a junior rep game a few years back he made a break and got mowed down by Martin Taupau. He's got good acceleration and adequate speed but he's not a genuine speedster.

Mate Brad Takarangi would just about be an improvement on what we've got, doesn't mean we should sign him. Gagai won't come cheap, some team will pay him good money expecting origin Gagai and end up instead of the mediocre club level version
