As a club, the bulldogs demand success.
We expect to be there in September.
We hate losing.

We won't win many this year.
We're the youngest team in the comp.
Two of our marquee players are on the injured list.
With the exception of a few, our top 30 is young, inexperienced and raw.

We will lose more games like this.
The boys are trying, but we're not seasoned professionals.
We'll put in effort, but we'll get beat convincingly.
We'll bring our best, but it won't be enough.

But we'll get that win when it's not expected.
We'll see players gaining confidence and start to shine thru.
We'll start winning again.
We'll be there in September.

Meanwhile the kennel will riot.
Pay needs to be sacked, Jackson to the Tigers.
Hopoate is shit and Tolman overrated.

Go the doggies!

Lucky I'm good at my day job.

According to Pay, we will be going after a "big" name player in 2021.

If we do sign a "big" name player, we will need another 4-5 years to build a team around the "big" name player.

I say we are "maybe" looking at a premiership around 2026-2030

Tolman was one of only 3 players up front to crack 100m today.
Martin 141m (in 80 minutes)
Tolman 101m (in 50 minutes)
Elliott 101m (in 37 minutes)
Ogden came close with 90m (in 45 mins)

Every other forward was under 100m with CHN taking the piss with only 35m (in 80 minutes)

We need experienced players here short term

Okunbor, Meaney, Smith & Lewis need another 2 years before they are reliable first graders.

Knights 'rebuild' they signed experienced guys on long term contracts like Guerra, SKD & Pearce. Sharks went in for Ennis for 2 years max.

Souths signed Farah for a couple of seasons while they developed Cook.

Ogden i watched closely. He is a keeper. Bends the line most times. Put on a nice whack on Graham as well. Unfortunately it's probably the one of a few highlights from today.

I'm not saying you're wrong but fuck me that's depressing.

Imagine 22-25 years between premierships.

I know we've had worse droughts but it doesn't make it any easier to take.

If we are rebuilding then when Brandon Wakeham recovers from his injury he should be our halfback, he is our best halfback at our club.

Don't keep talking about we are rebuilding because that is rubbish. If you make it to first grade your there for a reason. You get picked because you can survive. But looks like they got picked just for the hell of it and now the supporters are the laughing stock what team are we actually barakading for? Waist of membership, to the club and to the games and what about all the merchandise we have bought 100s if not 1000s of dollars.

I wouldn’t look to the Knights for how to rebuild. They too are sitting 1 for 5 at the foot of the table. Pay had better start concentrating on the here and now and forget about 2021. He won’t be around that long if they keep performing like they have.

Concentrating on the here and now is what got us into the mess we are now experiencing. But we expect better performances than yesterday. We expect mistakes from a young team (although not as many as yesterday) but if we make a mistake then defend it, don’t throw your hands in the air and give up FFS.

It's all fine and dandy to crack 100m but looking at it purely statistically is wrong.

How much of an impact did those metres gained make? Did they bend the line? Did they take more than 1 **** to bring them down leaving the Dragons short in D.

Very few of those runs had any real impact for us tbh.

My fear is losing my kids to another team if the Dogs keep up this “rebuilding” phase. They are under 4 years, but are noticing other teams scoring and not the bulldogs. Then their friends will come into it (another couple years) and chances are Dogs are still “rebuilding”, leading to kids going for successful teams and it sticks

I don’t want that in my household :coldsweat:

I’ve been watching the team since the 80s dogs generally win a comp atleast once a decade and appear in a minimum of at least 2 gfs our window this decade was 2012 looking forward I’m confident we will atleast match what’s happened before
