I love King but his origin audition failed last night

Payne and Carrington ate him up and spat him out

Max under 100m and uncharacteristically 3 missed tackles

He will bounce back but Origin talk can be put on ice now

As an aside Ciro said a few players didn’t stick to the defence system pretty obvious which guys he is talking about - Salmon and Reed def two of them judging by their minutes
 
3PRESTON 2 HAYWOOD 1 MANN would've got more points but never got on the field only got limited minutes. Pretty big effort by our fullas had a lot go against them.

That’s the best takeaway out of last nights game for mine we are losing fuck all for origin possibly Mann and Critta but that’s it the rest cooked any chance they had.
 
I do think all the origin chat didn’t help. Worst half I have seen Reed, Preston, Curran and Kiraz play. King was anlso pretty quiet. All of who were on the cusp and a good game here probs got them in the squad. Kiraz made an ok comeback in the second half. I actually saw some good signs from Critta today. Didn’t play well but has obviously been carrying some sort of leg injury. There was a moment in the second half were we had a 2 on 2 he bombed, but it was the first time this year he really stretched out and ran fast and hard. Hopefully he will be back to his best in a few weeks.

King was never in the plans for Origin imo, well not in mine anyway. But you are correct.
 
It’s an absolute head scratcher that Mann came on in the 2nd half, yet during the first half onslaught, he sat on the bench…. Why?

His little cameo got the Dogs back into the grind in both defence and attack!

Mann needs way more game time ffs

I think Ciro is a lot tougher a coach than many of us think.
Possibly he was not happy about the team deviating from our tried and true style and decided to let them suffer in their own stupidity and pay the price.

He kinda did that in his first year here. We accused him of not caring whether we won or not bc he was not being very reactive like most other coaches.

I think his style is help them all you can but you guys ultimately have to decide within yourselves how much you want to win and what you're prepared to put in to achieve that.

Maybe once they listened to him during half time, he thought he could get back to the gameplan he had coached them to during the week....until then it was "suffer you bastards" lol

Just a thought lol
 
Where was the defence they talked about all week in the media? Blown apart !
