Vaughan reports for duty as Dogs hit the track
PAUL Vaughan will make his first official appearance as a Bulldog on Wednesday as the new-look Canterbury Bulldogs start offseason training at Belmore.
Canterbury is the first NRL club to officially start summer training with part of the top-30 squad back to work.
And it will be the first time Vaughan, 30, has appeared since being sacked by St George Illawarra in early July after breaking Covid restrictions by hosting a barbecue for 13 teammates at his south coast home.
Vaughan was fined $50,000 and banned for eight games by the NRL - a suspension he worked off over the later stages of last season.
Other NRL players to return to Belmore on Wednesday include Corey Allan, Jake Averillo, Josh Cook, Max King, Jayden Okunbor, Aaron Schoupp, Jackson Topine, Zac Hetherington, Bailey Biondo Odo, Matt Doorey and Brandon Wakeham. Like Vaughan, Cook and King are newcomers to the Bulldogs.
