Lot of people getting worried about having competition to keep Burton. Just here to point out the obvious thoughts and clear everything up…

To be totally honest, only clubs don’t have a set or marquee 5/8, those being:
Cronulla
Brisbane
Dragons
Knights
Warriors
Dolphins
Penrith have Luai.

Cronulla will be set with upgrading some players they already have, and are looking to resign Moylan.
Same goes for Brisbane, needing to upgrade juniors, and also have Mam coming through as a big prospect.
Dragons are investing in Amone. Can’t see them going there.
Why would you want to go to NZ.

The only competitors seem like Newcastle and the Dolphins. Both have the cash and have a reserve grade standard halves pairing, really needing that marquee half.

Penrith have Luai
Even if Munster goes to the Dolphins, I can’t see Melbourne going for him, as they have that good young half Pezet coming through.
The Roosters are looking like frauds, who would take Keary and they don’t have the cap space for him at all. And Keary and Walker are a good halves pairing.
Cowboys have Dearden
Parra have Brown
Bunnies have Cody
Manly have Schuster
Canberra have Wighton
Tigers have Doheui
Titans have Foran/Brimson

So what would you do, stay with your club, go to Newcastle who are going nowhere fast, or the unproven Dolphins with a huge target on your back.

Obviously don't know the ins and outs of what the clubs plans are towards recruitment and retention, but he'll clearly be our main priority moving forward and I'm fairly confident that we'll be able to keep him a Bulldog for a long time to come

IMHO finding a good 1/2 would go a long way to keeping Burton, getting his opinion on who he wants for his half's partner would also help keep him.
The talk on NRL360 was that Tigers might be prepared to pay at least $500.000 of frieght to let Moses go.
How about a 1 year deal, the club would have to pay $5--6K max on a 1 year deal for Moses, the talk around is that he is looking for a way out of the Tigers.

Even though clubs have the players you mentioned on the books, these days contracts mean nothing. A club will gladly tap the player on the shoulder should a better player in their position become available. We’ve seen the roosters do it many times before

Relax.. He's not going to make a decision on his next deal til November at the earliest.. Don't fall for the constant media speculation. Trust that Gus and the club have the situation under control.. There's no point creating a million threads between now and then panicking about his contract.

Wait, what? Do Tigers have yet another Moses?

Is this why they are so shit, god is actually sacrificing the Tigers for the betterment of the league. It all makes sense now

Another thing in our favour is that no other club has a Foxx. Burton loves playing with him you can see it. There’s no way Gus lets Burton leave. Trust the process.

There chemistry on the field and relationship of the field is growing each week. Gus ego is that high he will die before he lets Burton go.

Playing along side JAC is a solid reason to stay, they get along like they have known each other for years.

You left out the NFL, as a punter.

I cannot fathom for a minute the panic over this non issue LOL
We have Gus Gould this kid is ours until at least 2027, probably 2032
Don't even have to rush the upgrade in a couple of months or whenever they want to is fine, the puppetmaster will pull the strings and these dumbfuck journo's puds for a while yet..if he wants to.
