1. Averillo
2. Cotric
3. Schoup
4. Naden
5.JAC
6.Burto
7.Johnson

With rumours SJ is nearly done, that backline on paper can match it with anyone, I pray the club gets some forwards and a 9 so they are able to perform at their best on the back of it.
Given up on Allen?

Our backline with our without Johnson will be good enough next season but it won't mean shit if our pack has so many weak links in it.

Only Thompson and Jackson are reliable starting calibre players. I hope there's enough cap space to sign Hodgson short term. Even then, our edge second rowers are among the worst in the comp. Capewell would be a good signing but he seems likely to be headed elsewhere..

I'm still hoping Okunbor can play some part on the wing, and i wouldn't be disappointed if Averillo was in the halves and JAC or Meaney were at fb
Yep I would rather Okonbur on a wing. We have no aerial threat from kicks

Yeah all depends how he comes back from injury, but I’m a big Okie fan, but I’m thinking for that to happen, Cotric has to be tried again at centre, Naden and Okie, Cotric and JAC, not bad

Definitely,he is great under the high ball. He must be getting close playing again. Probably for Mounties first though

you obviously don’t remember when we were a force.
Averelo In the halves and Meaney at fullback wow

that’s a bottom 4 side
So who are your suggestions to sign then? We can't just create players. Its not a PlayStation game.

Plenty of players have copped criticism this year and rightly so, Cotric for me has been really underwhelming, will need a big improvement from him next year in that lineup.

Yo yo yo this yo boi Nasheed!!!
Coming to u live from Granville two one to d four and two #2142
Much love much peace to the dogs fans, the kennel, the streets and the fans.
Much love I appreciate you all and I respect your praise.
Whether u be in lakemba, Granville, Bondi, Taiwan’s or QLD u got my love if u are a dog/bunny. All races. All genders

I got ur back 200% yo.

I make this thread tonight to figure out our backline in 2021.
There are a few unique decisions that I think will need to be made.

lemme explain.

This is how I see thangs just now.

Top backline as predicted of now.

1 averillo
2 JAC
3 Naden
4 Allen
5 Cotric

That is what I believe and what I have noticed the kennel believes what we will field as top squad.

so if you break this down further:

Fullback:
Averillo
Meaney

Wings:
JAC
Cotric
Okenbor
Katoa
Also Meaney
Kinda sorta Allen

centre:
Naden
Allen
Schoupp

Now this the thang.

we all know we need to seriously chase a hooker and prop and even a back rower.

we also know we have splurged on wingers and Allen.

so something has to give here. We need to be frugal with our depth in the backline to have any chance of getting a marquee. We have DWZ money to worry about too as well as three highly paid halves if we get Johnson.

so I am thinking we are going to have to dump a few players to keep lean.

Katoa and Schoupp you’d have to think are min wage and no issue.
You would also have to seriously trust that 600k floppa is gone.

It looks on the surface that we are going to have to choose between
Nick Meaney and Jayden Okenbor.

Both are above min wage.

but they bring two completely different skill sets to the table.

Jayden Has that hard running black muscular metre eating skillset you want from a modern winger.

Yet Meaney is the more versatile skilful player who covers more positions.

of course, if someone takes Allen off our hands, that may not be an issue, but then we have the same problem as this year. We will have no centre depth.

so I really want to hear from y’all how to manage this situation?
because I think this is important. Nasheed.

I wouldn't mind having a big body like Okunbor 6'5 in there to start off sets from our own end. Also we haven't yet seen Averillo under the high ball. He doesn't really having a passing game either and we don't know if he's a talker and can arrange the defensive line. I still have hope that Cotric could make a decent centre in a good team and in a good team Allan will get back to his Souths form at fullback.

1 Allan
2 JAC
3 Naden
4 Cotric
5 Okunbor

Only question mark is how avo handles fullback defensive. High ball, positioning etc. Attack I think he will be fine. Offload Allen and Flanagan there money can go towards fixing the forward pack. Brandon Smith is a must. With that backline Smith at hooker and a decent foward pack it's top 4 or bust. No excuses.

Meaney and SJ news kills this a bit.

Cotric at 3 and Okonbur at 2.

He got 3 games at left centre and that’s enough to draw a line through him. Give him a run at right centre
