THE Penrith Panthers seem ready to shed their allegiance to the Western Sydney town, at least on what's purported to be their new logo.

As the battle of the codes in Western Sydney heats up, there’s claims the Panthers have dropped the word 'Penrith' from their new logo.

A Penrith spokesperson said they could not "confirm or deny" that this is the new logo or even if Penrith will feature in the name. A new logo is to be launched on November 1.

I know we had a name change to the sydney bulldogs to get away from the bankstown name but that didn't last. Strange they are doing this as they are one of the more wealthy clubs but I guess they want more fans
from western Sydney.

Sometimes management just need to shut their mouths and keep their "fresh" new ideas to themselves.

Penrith's current logo is perfect how it is.

Seriously though the Panther looks like battlecat from Heman...

If this was a Year 5 "Create the Panthers new logo", then it is acceptable.
If they paid anyone ANYTHING to design that laughable piece of crap, then they did not get good value for money.
