I'm struggling to have sympathy for Parra who have regularly looked to feign injury for advantages.

Parra were the first team criticised about faking head knocks to get free interchanges last year

The way Mitchell Moses stuck his arm out, to collect Matt Burton, and then dived to the ground claiming obstruction for a legitimate Penrith try.

Ferguson completely faking a crusher tackle.

Nathan Brown being a cheap shot merchant.

And just the general way Moses and Gutherson carry themselves, Parra can get fucked.

In regards to the Penrith trainer, they all do it, it's up to the NRL to do something about it consistently across all teams

A 25k fine is nothing when they get into a GF qualifier because of it. We got docked competition points and lost a minor premiership because Bobcat was on the field for a millisecond as a 14th man when he had no impact on the play..

The free interchange rule and trainers are huge issues and make the game even more unbearable to watch. Brazilian soccer players dive and fake injuries less than these players do now.

It's laughable that it's only a 25k fine when they're playing to win 400k if they win the Grand Final. Seems like a risk worth taking and this is hardly a deterrent from the blatant cheating and abuse of the free interchange system..

how do they determine, if the punishment fits the crime
individuals who have breached rules have been fined a lot more by the nrl
this breach by Penrith the fine hardly fits the crime, blatant deliberate cheating and a relatively small fine for something that may have or could have influenced the outcome of a game

the question have , was this a form of match fixing, could it have changed the outcome

100% agree.
As you mentioned Ferguson was just as bad with his crusher tackle claim which was a nonsense and to compound it jumped straight up after and had a go at the Penrith player. Bet your sweet life there would have been no whinging from Arthur if they had gotten a penalty for it and worked downfield and scored.

Sivo flops about like a fish every time he gets tackled and consistently tries to get a penalty for his efforts....

Once the NRL gave trainers the go ahead to ask for the game to be stopped they opened a can of worms....surely just like every other time the powers that be make a decision like that they should have realised it would be rorted......

Seriously dodgy ref /officials performance. I can't believe the easy path the riff got. The best team lost and that shit with the trainer should NEVER have been allowed. FMS STOP STOP.....Parra look likely, dont worry about Moses getting taken out we have to stop before checking out the "injured" player.

I don't have the stats but swear down the riff got most of the 50/50 calls and the lucky dip 6 again....can't even go there.

But the riff will have their arses handed to them royally against the drizz. Hoping that Manly can do a number on the vermin but no doubt they have a nice passage into the big dance and they'll cop a sweet run.

Penalties favoured Penrith 7-2 ; Penrith 4-2 six again;Penrith 1-0 inside ten; Parra on report 3-0. Penrith 16 interchange overall with free ones: Parra 9 with one free

Fair enough?

a quite cynical act by the Panthers trainer to get the match stopped in the last 10 minutes with the Eels attacking the Panthers line who were up by only 2 points for an "injured" player he had not even assessed

but what punishment is fair and adequate now? they got the desired result and are into the preliminary final... fines and suspensions are now useless

Fines a fkn joke. I hate parra as much as the next doggies fan but Penrith had a massive leg up in that game. I loved the 6 again calls given on the first for parra when they were on their 10m line.

What good is a 6 again on the first tackle on your own 10m line? Felt like watching a dogs game the way the ref bent over for Penrith.

Penrith can cheat all they want and parra can whinge all they want, regardless of who won that game, the storm are going to massacre them in the pre-lim.
Melbourne in the first 10 minutes against manly scored more trys then panthers have in 2 finals games combined and worth mentioning both trys were off kicks, you can't score 1 or 2 trys and expect to beat the storm.

They will get blown off the park, they will be the modern day chokers

The NRL has opened several cans of worms over the years. Are they inept, corrupt or both?
