Yes we passed up Mitchell for DWZ and blokes like Stimson and Britt. Many on here complained that Mitchell was fat and lazy and not worth the money.

How well did we spend that same amount of money on multiple duds who had no impact on us actually winning games ?
Probably the same people who suggested we shouldn’t sign the Cheese because he quote “was overweight and couldn’t play 80mins” - yet he’s probably been the best hooker in the NRL this year and deliberately carried the extra weight to play lock when Harry’s on the field.

Haas is on big dollars at the Broncos for long-term. They won't let him go for nothing, if he wants to leave though it will happen. Would take him no question about it, on big dollars too.

SYDNEY CLUBS CIRCLE ‘UNDERPAID’ HAAS

The Broncos are set to enter a dogfight to keep star prop Payne Haas with multiple Sydney-based clubs reportedly after his services.

The Courier Mail reports that the 21-year-old is a prime target of Sydney rivals who want to bring the NSW star back home, and rob the Broncos of another key long-term prospect.

In the past two years, Sam Walker, David Fifita, Reece Walsh, Xavier Coates and Tom Dearden have all slipped through the Broncos’ fingers.

Ben Ikin has now come on board as the Broncos’ head-of-football and will be tasked with ensuring Haas at least commits to his six-year deal that takes him to the end of 2024.

According to the publication’s Rich 100, Haas is one of the most underpaid players in the NRL with his $550,000-a-season contract worth almost $200,000 less than that of Pangai Jnr, who he outperforms on a consistent basis.

Doesnt state which clubs but surely we're one of them. I reckon we wouldve had a better shot before Ikin turned up, he'll never let Haas leave, especially 3 years early. If he's actually disgruntled and wants out, what can he do to get out of his contract? Is there a way?

Apparently he was seen at Darling Harbour talking to few Sydney Clubs. Hopefully we are one of them. 100% Uncle Nick would be talking to him.

No we didn't.

Latrell took less money to go to the Bunnies.

He never had a 2nd option.

It was always only the Bunnies.

Hes locked into broncos till end of 2024. So can't even be approached till end of 2023. And broncos would be insane to release him. They are also paying unders for him coz he signed for 6 years before becoming an origin player or big name. No way they let him go early

Yep, and it's unders now, but the Broncos basically put Haas on that contract (500k) before he played a NRL game. The club isn't going to take a risk like that and then upgrade him (at least massively) or let him walk, no chance.

LOLLLL big dollars? he signed a measly $550k a season deal for 5 years. That most certainly is not bg dollars If he was available to be signed he'd easily command $800k - 900k a season.
