Even though I don't rate Pay in the slightest, it's still pretty obvious that he hasn't got much of a fair go. He has requested multiple players in the past and the club has turned him down even with the funds available.

Still think this board went in with intentions of just writing off a couple of seasons while waiting for our cap to clear so they saw no need to invest "unnecessary" funds into the coaching department. Theo constant excuses and lowering of expectations was all just an attempt to buy time..

If Pay eventually came good then they keep him, if not then they move on a sell a more attractive roster to another coach. Problem is these c*** don't have much of a clue and are making poor decisions while struggling to come out on top in many negotiations.
You may be right but there has been zero improvement in any of pays aspects. You think he would of by now.

Yes, let's sign Toovey to do our recruitment and sack him in 2022 too. Pay's the best person for the job until a top coach is available.
We should have sacked Pay and got Holbrook when we had the chance... We haven't signed anyone and Thompson would have still come over with his former coach here. Our stupid board fucked up. Will also add remember how certain posters here said Pay was better than Holbrook lol... It's lonely down the bottom of the ladder

Holbrook's doing a terrific job at the Titans, he's really changing their culture. Thompson signed knowing Pay is our coach. A lot went into the Thompson contract.

I have made an appointment for you to see the concussion specialist, booked you, Horse and the other nuffs on here to get your heads checked.
Apparently 3 seasons of evidence is not enough for you guys... always have a fucking excuse. Its mentally draining listening to.you guys still back him..
Dude we are shit from top to bottom, from the head honcho all the way down to the players.
Pay will not be re-signed that's a given. Whether he lasts the year or not god knows.

That’s an indicator of how out of their depth our CEO,Chair, GM of Football & the rest of our recruitment clowns are. The is the biggest problem-
They collectively have no plan, no idea.....the fish rots from the head down

There are pros than cons for an immediate change of coach. The pros are that often with a change of coach performances improves somewhat, and that should help with recruitment.
However I am almost certain that our club is having trouble finding a proven replacement coach at present. Sacking coaches mid year would not be encouraging for any prospective coach, no matter how proven he might be.

I totally agree with you there. Mid season change won't do a thing in my opinion. I would be happy enough to leave Pay till end of year.
But we do need to take action now, the club should come out, say Pay is staying till end of year and that we will be on lookout for new coach. That way it gives prospective players an idea of where club is headed. Gives a new coach time to come in and see where we at as a club and make some recruitment decisions.

Pay has been given his chance - regardless of the roster - he has blown it. Leaving the win loss ratio aside, players have not improved.
Tommy Talau, who the club couldnt find a development contract for - plays out of position and dominates us. He has developed and improved and is physically so much stronger. I don't see that development / improvement happening at the Dogs with any player.

Whilst the roster is the most important thing re on field results I believe that the club needs to make a decision re 2021 coach asap so that recruitment can ramp up with some certainty. The first decision is to make it clear they are moving in a different direction for 2021.

The club will have money to spend but so will other clubs like St George and the Tigers.

Apart from Bellamy - who is unlikely to be enticed - I think Griffin, Fitzgibbon, Ryles - would be starting points - coaches who are more likely to have the command n respect of modern day footballers and who would be in a position to impact recruitment.

Only get Pay if you know you have someone better otherwise there's no point.

Bellamy, Seibold,Bennett, Flanno or a highly touted rookie like Malkoun or Fitzgibbon otherwise let it run another year.

It is so bloody obvious that Pay has lost the dressing room. He lost it before the season even started. Our team on paper is honestly not THIS bad. We should be somewhere between 6th and 10th - while I don't think we are by any means a team that will do anything in the finals, we should be in contention with the team we have.

Pay is not only ruining our club, our team, but also some of these players careers. Seriously, fuck him off now before he fucks shit up beyond repair.

Went missing for long periods last night. Only had one run in the first half and tackled twice. Hate to say it nut Jackson has also gone missing all year.
To'omaga not coming on in the first half doesn't make any sense to me. I'm not defending that. Our starting prop's are shit so maybe Pay's pushing them to get more out of them (not going to happen, because they're shit). I'm not an expert but you sub both your starting props off 20-30 minutes in, give the benches a stint in the middle and sub your starting props back on in the second half. Elliott's playing 80 minutes because he's a freak.

WE don't really know what's going on behind closed doors, but I just have a strong feeling that our board is finding it very difficult to find a suitable replacement for Pay.
No one knows if an unproven coach will be any better, and if he also fails also then he has to be paid out, which will then make it even harder to find another replacement

Pay's contract expires at the end of the year. He was already the lowest paid coach in the league and took a pay cut due to Covid.

He would have already been paid more than half his salary for this season. If he was fired today, any compensation owed to him would be minimal. No more than 100-150k.

So firing him now certainly won't cost the club a fortune like it would the Broncos with Seibold or Saints with Mary.

I wrote this in another thread but I think pay supporters should consider the following

need 4/5 top line players using war chest . The club is not only the new parra but I think they will be the new titans . By new titans I mean the following
They will pay massive overs to get anyone but it will be those that are at the end of the careears who don’t give a shit and just after a pay cheque and won’t give 2 fucks about their performances as they will be playing knowing they will have no chance of a premiership and will kiss any potential rep career good bye. This is what the pay supporters don’t get , a war chest is only useful if you had a once off bad year , ala 2008 , not a basket case of a club that is perefennially at the bottom with a coach who has achieved fuck all
