Would love to see him in a tackle busting backline one day of

1 Corey Allan
2 JAC
3 Kotoni Staggs
4 Paul Alamoti
5 Nick Cotric

They would be like cogs in a tackle breaking machine.

Not much on ? give them early ball and see what happens. One breaks a tackle then gets the ball away to another who breaks another tackle and so on til JAC gets it in the clear.

Sounds beeyouteeful lol

Its a great proposed backline but lots of our opposition have that kind of calibre already.

We might have that next year.

I'd settle for Naden if Staggs is staying in Brissy.

That is exactly what I was going to post brother man.
Would be the most lethal backline in NRL and one that could really push us to top 4 status.

There's no way we should be shelling out big bucks for Staggs. I would give Schoupp some games towards the back end of this year and he should be ready to go next season to replace Hoppa. Alamoti play SG Ball this year and then to Cup next year and then hopefully first grade the year after. That should be two good powerful running centers to go with JAC and Cotric.

You can't over spend on backs like that. Look at top sides like the Storm. They don't over spend on their centers, but on the back of their super star playmakers and solid forwards they dominate. They can make ordinary centers like Brenko Lee etc look great. Conversely the opposite will happen with a poor hooker and forwards getting dominated. Center is the last position we should be spending big money on right now

Hope they ask for the same exemption Sualli got.
Rather not see him elevated too young into the top grades. We should nurture him, and bring him up when he's ready.
It's cruel to put a seventeen year old kid up against some of the monsters playing centre in the top clubs.

This is the most important part of our re-build. We need either local juniors or young players from elsewhere to debut for our club in order for a proper rebuild.

Back in the early 2000's we had guys like El Masri, Harris, Anasta, Sherwin, Asotasi, SBW, Matua, Mason, etc who were either local juniors or young players who made their debut at our club. You get at least a few years out of these younger players playing below their cap value and then a lot of the time they stay for less. You cant keep just buying players.

I dont care if its a local junior. Teams like the Roosters dont have juniors but they still identify young talent and bring them through the grades. This weekend the roosters have 11 players who have made their debut for the club. The storm have 14 and the panthers have 13.

We have 5
In 2004 only patten, Ryan, omeley and Tonga (only 1 game for Parra) played their first, first grade game for another team. Insane development

And on top of that Patten and Tonga were in reserve grade when they signed with us. Patten was behind Amos Roberts and Tonga was behind Lyon and Violeki. So really we only bought two established FG players(Ryan & Omeley)who were part of the 04 GF team. Absolutely insane development and great eye for young talent. Also the dogs juniors like Sherwin, El-Masri and Utai were from the area. Unbelievable how it all came together

Unfortunately when we signed Des Hasler, we pressed the pause button on junior / player development. We went from bred not bought to the other way around. Having players who would bleed for the club means you don't have to pay as much as well.

Yes I would too. Naden would be an upgrade on Hopa.

"Canterbury won’t follow in the footsteps of their Sydney rivals however and will keep Alamoti in the wings this year before utilising his pace and power next year.

His arrival will be timed alongside Storm superstar flyer Josh Addo-Carr and young Penrith half Matt Burton, who will join the Belmore club from 2022."

I'm happy with this, smooth transition for Hoppa. Just need another quality winger and we are golden.

if DWZ cuts out his mistakes he is the top quality winger with okonbor as his back up

we now need to focus on hooker and a prop

The winger can be Cotric.

1. Allan
2. JAC
3. Schoupp
4. Alamoti
5. Cotric
6. Burton
7. Flanagan

Not a bad backline
