It was the same thing with Hoppa Montoya.... I'm not defending Montoya, he sucks... but it didn't help matters that he was constantly defending a two on one

It's the collateral effect.

Frawley can't be trusted in defence.
Holland comes in to cover Frawley.
Smith comes in to cover Holland.

Ball goes wide and hey presto an overlap OR Holmes injects himself as another player to create the overlap and it's a try.
This is true. Every try scored on his edge was because frawley and holland got beaten on the outside.
