Left Edge = Matt Burton, Viliame Kikau, Jacob Kiraz & Josh Addo-Carr.
Right Edge = Khaled Rajab, Jackson Topine, Paul Alamoti & Aaron Schoupp.
So much will depend on the off-season. So, it's all speculation (so, let's speculate).
I don't see a reason to play with the left edge too much. Kikau slots in and immediately it's more potent than '22.
Schoupp is still young and green (people forget and expect too much too soon). He's fine on the left edge with JAC. He brings strength and aggression (not to be underestimated). If he continues to improve, good. If he plateaus or regresses then Ciraldo will have options coming through.
The right edge is open. Some of these players are not even confirmed in the top squad yet.
Rajeb might end up at 7. Not sure it will be round 1 though. He might come through as the bench utility (especially with BBO likely to be unavailable early on). Still needs time to develop through reggies, but if he is good enough then he's old enough.
Topine earnt NSW Cup Player of the Year '22 on the right edge, so is a legitimate candidate. But Ciraldo might prefer him in the middle (or off the bench for the first part of the season) to cover the role Josh Jackson was doing. He's an 80 minute stamina/effort player, good defensive technique and work rate. Quite quick for a backrower and gets a fast play-the-ball happening. Could be a long-term lock option.
Alamoti is a prospect, but still too raw for first grade based on last year. Things could change over the off-season or early into the '23 campaign but it might be '24 before he's ready (maybe a debut and some cameos for '23, depending on development progress).
Schoupp stays on the left. So, Kiraz plays right. Either Wing or Centre. So, again depending on off-season and what Ciraldo wants, candidates would be:
Burns (the "incumbent" centre).
Allan (experience and on big money)
Perham (new recruit, 1st grade experience)
Skelton (if he's re-signed and measures up to potential)
Samrani (wing/centre) - he's the same age as Kiraz, so maybe.
Okunbor (if Ciraldo can work some kind of magic).
Averillo might also be back as an option at right centre, if someone steps up a overtakes him as first choice fullback.
