Was that set the new "worst" we have seen.

When we desperately needed the forwards to man up and charge and eat up meters. Nothing.

When we needed the halves to organise. Nothing.

While we are a good defensive side. With the ball we are close to worst in the NRL.

It's taken this long for you to find that out?

It was the most embarrassing set I've seen. 7 tackles and make less then 50 metres. Woeful

There is always several every round.
But the game was there for the winning.
Had they powered up the field they would have been in range for a field goal attempt.
For me it was even worse than the set in the cowboys match.
Just everything about this team.

It was diabolical, it was glaringly obvious we had no one to stand up and lead for us. Enter Paul Gallen for the Sharks who showed everyone how it's done and he's well into his 30's...

Some teams have inspirational leaders who aren't necessarily captains of their teams.. we had no one willing to inspire. We compounded things by letting the Sharks March 70m upfield to take a close shot at a 1pointer. So defensively, we didn't man up either.

The doggies of by-gone eras would have found that extra effort, our guys can't find the extra gears.

The thing is for a team so obsessed with forwards play and taking hit ups we went no where in 7 tackles. Any other team would have carted the ball down field atleast 60 if not more but our pack barely made it over half way.

2012 we were a premiership caliber team. 2013-2015 we where a top 8 team. 2016-2017 we are lucky to scrape in. Looking like this year we might miss out.

It's funny for a team on the slide we are locking up plodders and the coach long term The coach has been a myth since 2012. I'm sure someone like Bellamy, Flanagan, Robinson, Bennett would have gotten that team to atleast 1 if not 2 more top 4s in the same time. But in effect we haven't been a title contender since 2012. That's the honest truth.

Well surprise surprise unmotivated players lol there's no wonder why the fans are beginning not to give a shit about this team anymore.

Starts with the hooker imo. You need quick play the balls and players running a ditch line back behind the markers. Back in 2014 semi against Manly it was the same scenario... Ennis kept it simple, quick and early passes to big forwards running back through the middle to get us in position. Unfortunately our hookers are sub par and halves struggle to take control when we need them to.

In situations like that it's not the forwards that are to blame. Its the playmakers who need to take control. That's their time to shine.

To be honest our defence has been shit at times as well. Roosters games- shit defence, Cowboys- shocking defence, Storm- shit defence, raiders- shit defence (from 6 nil to 6-12 in 10 mins) I noticed that our defence is only good when we are leading. If we are behind in the scoreboard our defence is crap as well. it is like we have a "we are leading- we just need to defend" mentality.

I'm amazed some claim our defence is good, No it is not. Teams run the length of the field most times when attacking against our feeble defence. We cannot hold field position in defence. By the time we get the ball we are back on our goal line. Watching a dogs team turn and start running back towards their own try line in defence is pitiful. And there is no force or sting in any of their tackles. Teams used the fear the dogs defence. Now they treat it with the contempt it deserves. Steve Mortimer was right. we have lost our DNA.

Actually, the game was ours to lose - and we did just that.

it started with 2 backs, who got clobbered, backs shouldn't be starting it unless it's getting them on the frontfoot, where as all the cronulla players had gotten back by then
