-----------------------------------------------------------

High-profile player agent Gavin Orr was refused official rugby league player agent status by the Rugby League Accredited Player Agent Committee (RLAPAC).

The RLAPAC met to review a number of applications for persons seeking accreditation and it was determined Orr would not be accredited.

The decision follows Orr's decision not to offer information in regard to a complaint made in relation to an alleged irregularity over a signature on a player's contract.

It is alleged Orr forged the signature of Eels forward Fuifui Moimoi.

The committee conducted an investigation into the matter prior to the meeting with the assistance of its operations manager Paul Osborne.

Orr declined to present any information in response to the matter to either Osborne or the committee directly.

"Mr Orr was fully entitled to exercise his right not to offer any information in relation to the matter," committee chairman Geoff Bellew said in a statement.

"The Committee, having offered that opportunity, then had to assess the application on the information it had at hand and, in doing so has unanimously refused the application for accreditation."

Orr is part of Pacific Sports Management who look after superstars such as Sonny Bill Williams.

His brother Chris Orr has received accreditation.

The NRL and ARL publish a list of accredited agents and promotes the commitment of such agents to abide by a common set of principles.

Accredited agents receive identification passes to promote their commitment to the scheme and their reliability to potential clients.

The game does not have the power to prevent someone acting as an agent however.

A person who is refused accreditation can reapply 12 months after their application has been refused.
