It's not gonna be easy !

3 selections in each leg costs $81 - $20 = Approx 25%
4 selections in each leg costs $256 - $20 = Approx 8%

My Best Bets tells me on Stakes Day last year the Quaddie paid $1.1 million !

Agree totally !

Also ...

R3 - Arlington - 4.5L behind Theseo in G1 Mackinnon 2000m last go. Drops 3.5kg, and about 5 grades of class.
R5 - Drumbeats (class) / Ooleo (speed) - Take whoever isn't scratched. Both credentials at distance.
R9 - Baughurst - Rodd aboard is enough for me.

One for the future ...

Randwick R1 #1 Pinwheel - Son of Lonhro. Ran 2nd to Northern Meteor at first start by 4L in record time. Won last start at Cant by 2.5L running 1.10.88. Time's not flash, and you might get $1.40 if you're lucky tomorrow, but this one looks like one right out of the box !

Ffr 1 - 8 - 2 - 4 = $ 95.30 x 166.66% = $158.83

Got an all-up late in the day. R8,9,10 Melb with places @$5 returned over $60 !

I like how you spread your FF's and Quaddies too.

Do you play doubles, parlays or all-ups ?

never had a parlay but yeah i do have an all upper or a DD when i see something that grabs the eye.
whats the go with a parlay bet?..i think it is like an all up bet except it costs $12 for a $1 bet but you can miss out on a leg and still collect is that correct?

As far as I understand (and I was hoping you could tell me just quietly), traditional Parlays are over 4 legs and cost $11 for $1. You're correct when you say you dont need all four to get a payout.

To keep things simple we'll have one selection in each of the first four races. Lets say your selections are A,B,C and D, but you only get three of them (C loses). You payouts would be A,B,D,AB,AD,ABD ... all at $1. You can fill in your own odds to see what you'd need to break-even.

Now they have this thing called "Parlay Formulas" which is pretty complicated, but good if you can snag a few results. You can have up to 6 legs. You can mix and match wins, places, e/w or quinella dividends for your legs. AND you can choose over how many legs you get a payout.

As an example, lets say I have 6 legs, and 6 selections for the win, (A,B,C,D,E and F). I can choose to have payouts over 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 legs as well. In this case I'll choose to have a payout after 2,3 and 4 legs. IF A,B,C,D happen to win, I'd get AB,AC,AD,BC,BD,CD for 2 legs - ABC,ABD,ACD,BCD for 3 legs - ABCD for 4 legs. There's a calculator on the RaceTab site that'll help you with it, but at this stage no flexi betting on it !
