In regards to burton signing with us,I’ve been told not likely,Panthers currently updating details,on a new 3 year extension,for him to stay there,also he was presented with our contract almost 3 weeks ago ,and still nothing,club should move on to plan B.not fair on us to keep us hanging like this,has nothing to do,with an early release,

To be fair he was probably aware of the contract 6 weeks ago.

I would find it astonishing though if he stayed at Penrith. He would be moved from his preferred position and would have to take far less than he could earn at other clubs. If he extends for 3 years and plays centre or backrow then his value for the rest of the career diminishes as well. They dont earn anywhere near the amount of money that quality halves do.
