Heard on the Today show that Cricthton will sign a lucrative 3 year extension with Penrith.

If true they would have had to upgrade their offer "considerably" by over 100K or more. There was an article yesterday with direct quotes from Crichton where he said he's after the best deal possible because he's the eldest of the kids still living at home and he wants to take care of his parents so they don't have to work anyone. Looks like he's going to the highest bidder from 2022 whoever that is.

The Panthers may also struggle to keep young prop Spencer Leniu, who is off contract at the end of the year. Penrith offered him a two-year extension before the finals, but at least four clubs have since expressed interest in his services for 2022, including Trent Barrett at the Bulldogs.

I would think Penrith would be able to match whatever the highest offer is....which is good for us because it'll probably be $100-200K over their original offer which will put them under even more cap pressure, which helps us with signing Leniu and releasing Burton early.

In regards to burton signing with us,I’ve been told not likely,Panthers currently updating details,on a new 3 year extension,for him to stay there,also he was presented with our contract almost 3 weeks ago ,and still nothing,club should move on to plan B.not fair on us to keep us hanging like this,has nothing to do,with an early release,

Well that's not good is it..

Should be obvious to all that 3 weeks after he received our offer,still nothing,,the guys played 4 or 5 first grade games,not a seasoned pro,our club should have the balls to say give us a yes or no ,so we can move ,but obviously we have no balls or people prepared to make the hard calls.
