OFAHIKI OGDEN SIGNS WITH THE BULLDOGS FOR A FURTHER TWO YEARS

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have looked to strengthen what is already shaping up to be an excellent forward pack by signing explosive prop Ofahiki Ogden for a further two years.
The talented 22 year-old will now be at Belmore until the end of the 2021 season.
The former Kiwi Junior who represented New Zealand at U16 and U18 level, was a major part of the Bulldogs winning Intrust Super Premiership side from last year, which culminated in selection for the Intrust Super NSW Residents side.
Ogden, also made his NRL debut for the Bulldogs last season against the Knights in Round 16 and ended up making 9 appearances, which included a first-ever try against the Dragons in Round 24.
Bulldogs Chief Executive Andrew Hill was pleased that the club had been able to extend Ogden's contract:
"Ofahiki has been outstanding during his time at the club and we definitely see him as a player on the rise. He is a hard runner who made an impact every time he came off the bench last season and he will offer us great depth in our forward pack.
Ofa was one of many players who have graduated from the lower grades, joining the likes of Lachlan Lewis, Reimis Smith and Rhyse Martin in our top 30 for season 2019."

Really like the bloke. Is a solid player and runs hard. Just need more emotion from him. He needs to jump up and scream when he makes a hit on opponents. Hopefully napa helps him out with that

I like it, think he is actually going to be solid in first grade this year. Needs to work on his d but he has good potential.

There is the beginning of a decent team, once experience and understanding fellow players locks in.

Really good move. Of all the isp boys Ogden looks most likely to become a dominant first grade prop. Bends the line every hit up and has a nice offload too. These are the sort of guys that don’t ask for a release over a sooky wife. You can rely on guys like Ogden.

To'omaga in ISP is better than Ogden but Ogden stepped up more than To'omaga when they played first grade. Both players have a bright future ahead of them. Glad they re signed him.

Good work by the club to lock him up in the preseason. His price would double if we didn’t lock him up early.

Now it’s up to Anderson, Hughes and mcdonnell to build up a decent core so we can contend again.

I always thought our greatest success on the back of reserve grade and junior success/championships. Something des neglected.

So to get our house in order we need to start building the u16, u18, u20s teams so they flow through to intrust and then nrl. Was no surprise we did so well in 2012 with such a great u20s team and Intrust team the few years before that. But of course des the dickhead ruined our premiership window by shipping out most of that team and not putting any development or recruitment in any of the lower grades.

It's great to have him locked up for a little longer. Hopefully he takes the opportunity and has a big offseason.
