She actually said the same thing to me about the grand final appearances in 2012 and 2014.

I said something like " I can't stand losing a grand final. In some ways I'd rather not even make the GF than get there and lose".

Her reply: "You're a hard man to please".

My reply "How about we win a GF instead?

She wasn't that happy with me but it goes to show that near enough was good enough for her.
