We could benefit from his experience.

The guy will be the wrong side of 30 next year. His best football is behind him, he has been injury prone as of late and this will certainly be Dales last contract so he’ll be looking for a a pay day. Good luck to him but he’s not the kind of player we need on our current predicament.

In a Team that dominated on the score board and across the park Dale got dominated quite a lot by the South’s forwards.

Storm lock Dale Finucane is understood to be weighing up his options for 2022, reportedly meeting with two rival clubs as Melbourne battle with a straining salary cap situation.

As reported by NRL.com’s Dan Walsh, the 29-year-old has fielded interest from two sides while the Cowboys, Tigers and Bulldogs have the NSW forward in their sights.

Finucane’s priority is to remain in Victoria and play out his career in purple, however desires of a three to four-year extension may not match the Storm’s available offers when both parties meet at the negotiation table.

The Storm co-captain has played 137 matches under Craig Bellamy since arriving from Belmore ahead of the 2015 season and has featured at Origin level on four occasions in the past two years.

Finucane remains as one of several key re-signings for the Storm, with Nicho Hynes and Brenko Lee also off-contract, while hooker Brandon Smith has been heavily linked to a move north.

Melbourne will already face a major hit to begin the 2022 season, with star winger Josh Addo-Carr departing for Canterbury at the end of this season.

The club have looked to combat the Origin flyer’s departure, with Broncos young gun Xavier Coates on the Storm’s radar.
Bring him back, make him captain.

He is starting to become a real grinder these days though, which we have hundreds of.

Getting Finucane and Smith would be a major coup for the club. Anyone rate Nico Hynes? Seems like another Zillman to me.

We wouldn't give the Morris Twins a two year extension because we said they were to old (Huge Mistake) so why would we consider Finucane for a 4year deal at his age & medical history.

We have different people running the club now. Also are you sure our F'd salary cap didn't play a part? We had to offload and release players. I don't think we'd consider a 4 year deal, 3 possibly, after Rudolf (who I now think will stay at the Sharks) Finucane could be our next best option all things considered.

i think our problem is we have too many 2 bit forwards.
Capable players that do a bit of this and do a bit of that. Atoni, etc.

What we need to do is learn from the indian cricket team, team India!, where they have 6 bats, 4 bowlers and an all rounder

We need to have x amount of ball breakers. big boppers that bend the line and scare little kids, and x amount of aiden tolman worker bees that solidigy the defence and do the tackles and minutes. Then have someone in between who can flexx between both.
At the moment we have players who can tackle a bit but dont do huge mins and hit a bit but dont hit heavy like the ending of bojack horsemen.

Who with me on this?

My Dear Nasheed, What could you possibly know about Ball Breakers???
Ive been a fan of the dogs since 1998! I have seen teams, players, eras that most here havent over the years. Just something i learnt over time.
in 2004 we had ball breakers like mason, O meley, Ray asotasi, paul rauhihi but these units were offset by players named grimaldi, price, gillies. toilers that came cheap and did the grunt work to allow the ball breakers to shine.

Then u had a guy like reni maitua who was a player that could worm his way into the forwards, backs, wherever needed basically.

playerds who do a bit of grunt and a bit of bash but are neither an expert in none is our downfall, we have plenty. these are like 'all rounders'.
Its why the indian test team doesnt pick capable all rounders, buit specialists, and why they are the greatest team of today and amongst the best of all time!!!
