The key word is close. My information is he signed a 3 year deal worth 2.5M
Unfortunately we let Ryan Matterson go for around 450K a year to the Tigers.
$450k is still pretty high for a forward who hasnt achieved a great deal yet.
Not saying he isnt talented and not saying he wont, but that isnt cheap.

Roosters offered Matterson around 300K and obviously he said no. Tigers got the money’s worth. He plays 80 minutes & he’d be now a 550-600K forward a season on the open market

Easy to say in hindsight, and I dont necessarily disagree but he was just making it on to their bench last year from memory.
I think $300k at that time was probably a reasonable offer, there's no doubt now that his value has increased and rightly so.

was listening to an interview with nick cotric on 9news yesterday and he was glowing in his assessment of J-Moz... Imagine if we still had him and he still got picked for NSW (highly questionable) but i think it would have enhanced our chances in nabbing Nic by Josh getting in his ear...
