Yeah it’s an odd reason, not saying Tezza is incorrect, but the majority of these guys have played juniors such as SG ball, Jersey Flegg and been named in all of those teamlists…
SG Ball, Flegg and all the other comps that show up in NSWRL Draws are run on the same system as NRL, which is designed to produce a program so there is no option to withhold information. I have been told that these systems are very costly with the recording of interchanges, penalties and errors etc and the NSWRL doesnt want to spend any money on Ron Massey, Sydney Shield etc so they attached it to "Play Rugby League", a junior system. The question is do these players understand what they are doing when they tick that box with "privacy". Mounties hit it on the head by stopping any players from doing it so they have had full lists every week, a few other clubs that had several names missing have finally fixed it but some clubs seem oblivious as they put their teams on facebook and at the same time have blanks in the program every week. Some believe "not available" is the greatest player in the history of Rugby League because he/she is scoring tries and goals at hundreds of grounds in multiple grades every week.

After beating the other team at the bottom of the Ron Massey table, all the players have gone back to NSW Cup or Flegg this week.
So how did the Gus experiment of our guys playing against men go?

All over the place… When it was done the other week there was an indication to the squad it would be for the rest of the season. Then Gus said last week on Twitter when asked that they might do it for a month and see how it goes, it’s since changed the very next week…

If i was in the flegg "A" team id much prefer to play flegg rather than rm cup - imho flegg has more prestige than rm cup and Flegg often get to play at better venues (Accor - this week).

Last year the team, particularly front row, was regularly changed up seemingly regardless of form n results.

The problem for these Flegg players was created by the Club. For reasons I cant possibly imagine the Club decided enter a team in the Ron Massey without recruiting any suitable players. You may think a junior competition has prestige but the reality is that this week the Bulldogs most experienced player will not have played 1 game in NSW Cup whereas the prop for Wenty has probably made $3 million over the last 11 years in Super League and NRL. I am sure he looks back at his years in Junior Flegg with fond memories.

Most would get belted in RM same with Sydney shield, it's as tough if not tougher than Flegg, it's open age, all players can play.

LOL playing the Bears this week in NSW Cup and 7 of their 17 players named, are ex Bulldogs.

Josh Bergamin, Tui Katoa, Toa Mata'afa, Jesse Marschke, Ben Marschke, Zach Dockar-Clay, Phillip Makatoa.

The North's recruitment manager was a player and coach in Ron Massey and that is where he recruits many of the players from. 5 of those 7 have played RM in recent years. The reserves for Norths play RM for Hills District so players going up and down every week. In 2021 Ben Marschke started in RM and ended up playing 13 games in NRL that season.

But people at Canterbury know about Ron Massey. It is where Cameron Ciraldo played his first big games, in Newtown's RM team in 2005 and David Tangatoa was captain coach of a weak Windsor team in 2011.

How does NSWRL schedule this game at the same time as our first grade game at a different venue?

Looks like NSWCup will be further weakened with Wilson & Topine on stand by for NRL & Morrin elevated for injured RFM. Possibly Sutton may drop back to NSWCup after being omitted from NRL extended squad.

Yes this is barely believable. No consideration to supporters wanting to see their team play at both levels. Just nonsense scheduling.

Wilson or Topine will drop back to NSW Cup and the other 18th man for NRL.

I suspect looking at the side, the smart move would be Topine, as that allows us to cover any injured players. Wilson could only cover the backs.

Wilson & Topine have to stay at Homebush to cover injury in the warm up, NSWCup is at North Sydney also at 2pm.
