Here is the ladder if points were added year by year from 2008 Rd 1 to the current round 2017:

Storm: 312 (This is including having 32 points stripped in 2010)
Sea Eagles: 303
Broncos: 300
Bulldogs: 276
Dragons: 275
Roosters: 274
Rabbitohs: 269
Cowboys: 264
----
Sharks: 250
Panthers: 250
Raiders: 245
Warriors: 242
Tigers: 242
Titans: 239
Knights: 218
Eels: 204

Interestingly even with the Storm being deducted 32 points, they're still clear winners. Just absolutely amazing how they've been able to keep such a high standard for so long now.

Now onto our Bulldogs. Interestingly they've somehow made the top 4 which is amazing, but in that top 9 we are the only team to not have won a premiership in the last 9 years. We've been disappointing to say the least.

What this ladder also shows is that being consistently near the top counts for crap. Teams have shown that putting together a top team quickly is just as successful as slowly building a squad over a number of years. The Roosters for one have had up and down times, but know when to do cleanups through a squad when they need success quickly.

Storm didn't have a cap legal team in 2009 so you should be removing any points that they earned during that season also. We should have won in 2012 so I guess these posts will always pop up until we do finally win a premiership. Not much difference between us and the Roosters really. We both only have 1 premiership since 2004 so not sure why you sing their praises if you're saying being near the top counts for crap. Roosters have had more minor premierships than us in that time frame but we've both been to two grand finals and only won one. Both sets of fans should feel frustrated that their teams aren't performing better.

Yeah, but if they didn't cheat the salary cap to begin with, they wouldn't have been able to establishment, or retain, the big 3, therefore, wouldn't have been dominant for so long.

All it does is make him look good, he has two teams in the top 4 and his the only coach to win two GF's! Not something to be bragging about... Hahaha... Bloody hasler!

Numbers don't lie.

At the end of the day we've been one of the best performers consistently over the last 10 years and we can't lie we've now had 2 shots at winning a Premiership and choked both times. We've had chances.

We didn't choke we were beaten by better playing roster both times there's no denying that.
Anyway I was just saying the thread died in the arse because it didn't expose des

Sounds like an excuse to me.
Those guys were kids when they went there.

Great coach and great system turned a lazy trainer of a half back into the best Hooker ever.
No other team would have done that.

What about from the year we entered the main competition. Seriously, go build yourself a house...it would be time better spent.

LOL What are you on about? Took you as much time to waste posting in this thread, as it did me adding up the last 9 years of footy!

The builder on the job site said Riley jacks was his apprentice and all the new guys in Melbourne get sent early for pre season, they are made to do early starts with brick layers and labour on construction sites and the employers are told by Bellamy to work them to the bone to teach them nrl is a priveledge.. that's why they have a good team it's a culture thing they see the difference between every day life and playing footy for the. If bucks. He said Riley said no phones at training and no social talk while ball playing is there.. thought it sounded pretty cool to me . No wonder storm are so good

Agreed but just making the 8 seems to be good enough for some people.

I don't think anyone thinks making the 8 is good enough, only that it is better than not making the 8. Let's face it even if we had won one of those GF's in the last 5 years a fair few would still be calling for Des' head because he didn't win 2, 3 or 4. No-one is happy with where we currently are but our record over the past 5 years isn't anywhere near the worst in the comp.

I'd like to also sadly add that we'd actually drop to 6th if I was to re-do this Ladder as of now.

The end of the day hen the club comes out with all those bold predictions a couple of seasons ago they wouldn't have built so much pressure for themselves. When things like "3 premierships by 2019" or "Top 4 finish every season" are uttered and the club doesn't deliver of course the fans aren't going to be happy.

Absolutely. You live and die by your words and deeds. Looking at it from the other side though, if they went through a planning process for the next 5 years and didn't set targets that related to winning comps and making the top 4 and it was leaked everyone would be giving it to them anyway. Just so many variables in footy that often you can't control. Not that it is in any way an excuse for the rubbish they have been dishing up.
