Yes, That!....I'm a big advocate for Fullbacks needing pace! I'd rather a fullback with speed to burn than a fullback with ball skills. A fullback with ball skills is a plus but it's really not the important part of his game. The fullbacks main role on the field is to be safe under the high ball, great positional play, good hands, direct the teams defensive line from the back(communication), a good cover defender, backing up when a break is made, chiming in to the back line to create an overlap, good in broken play. When these things are mastered and the experience is gained then a fullback can add the extras to his game by introducing ball playing and kicking game.

Patten didn't have the best ball skills but developed it a bit
Barba didn't have the best ball skills but developed it a bit
Slater didn't have ball skills in the beginning but developed the ball skills over time.
Tedesco wasn't known for his ball skills but now is starting to really develop coming up in the line and helping the 5/8, not just chiming in.

Agree. Avo has had close to what, 15-16 or so games under his belt and he’s stood out in 2 of them, at best. Guys like Barba & Thurston, they looked special early on, particularly Barba.

I’m open to him having a go at fullback as this forces him to run the ball, but he’s running out of time.

People are so over awed by players from Melbourne because their system is so good, 90% of their players are shit if you take them out. Hynes has been poor even in the Melb system, imagine how shit he would be if he left.

I reckon Allan to centre partner Cotric, Meany fullback or if DWZ removed his errors in his game I would have him there he did really well when he first came on board. New specialist centre (not a winger who wants to play centre pls) to partner with Josh Ado Carr.

We've seen inu who played his best games on the wing play centre not as affective, we've seen hoppa go from the wing to full back and centre not as affective and we've seen Cotric come from winger to centre not as affective. Wingers should stay as wingers!!

Yep they stand right next to each other on the park but the roles are soooo different.

Allan played 5/8 up until a few years ago where he switched to fullback.

Don't need to build a team around him just play him at FB. At 20 he has shown enough to be a future NRL player.
