Remember when we were told that Pay would attract all the young talent from his NSW u20s side?.....we ended up with Cogger and Meaney lol
In saying that I reckon Cogger would be way better if he was in a better system like Melbourne and got as many chances as Lewis

I thought Chricton was strong tonight. Had some good carries. Meaney should be a straight swap for Smith. Who kicks for goal though? Hopefully not Foz lol

Worst winger?

Ever heard of Heka Nanai?
How about Nick Youngquest?
Filiga Filinga or Makasini Rickter?
And how about Luke Young?

The kid has a go. Can't put it on him for a totally shit house performance where our middle and left edge were fucking abysmal.

He's not a world beater, but he certainly isn't the worst.

Correct. They are fucked. We took Cogger and Meaney from a Newcastle reserve grade side that got the spoon.
Anyone got the slightest doubt Dean Pay will not the first one to admit it, let alone fix that. As either clueless, or stubborn, as Hasler.

He's an average reggies fullback at best, being asked to play out of position on the wing. No chance in the world this was going to be a successful move. Blame Pay.

I was hoping he would come good and he showed a few good signs last year but he’s regressed a lot this year. He looks a few kilo’s too light and doesn’t have that blinding acceleration to compensate for it like other smaller players have. He’s rock solid defusing kicks but everything else is pretty average.

So how successful have Pay's signings been - i am talking of new players bought to to the club during Pay's time as head coach - please feel free to add etc...
1/Meaney - fail (playing out of position - didn't show much when played at fullback)
2/Cogger - fail (not given a proper chance)
3/Sue - fail (has suffered a major injury)
4/CHN - fail (kicked out - hence screwed us)
5/Nappa - flop (plays one good game in every 5 - over paid and over rated - no wonder Roosters let him go so quickly)
6/DWZ - pass (failed at fullback - decent winger at best.) Penrith let him go cause they knew he wasn't a fullback and that's the position he wanted to play. Again another winger getting paid fullback money.

Mr. Invisible - Nick Meaney hits the defensive line like a light crosswind.

That bloke also wanted Jake Mamo, Matt Dufty and Mason Ceruto to play fullback along with a range of other lightweight twigs

Adam Quilan would have been that rock star fullback we were always after.

Meaney tries hard but just hasn’t improved his game under Pay (like the other 28 players)

Probably should switch to Rugby Union

How did Meaney get a hip flexor injury when he avoids contact
By trying to avoid contact.

Like many have said, he could be a handy fullback if he was played there last year in reserves then he would be able to develop in first grade this year to see if he can be the long term solution from 2021.

Thats a good way of looking at it - who have Pay n current admin brought to the club and have they improved - overall an abysmal no.

Despite the cap issues n the stuff up with development contracts, that hopefully all end this year, the poor roster etc im starting to doubt the value added, if any, of Pay.
