We need a good strong fast Kiwi/Islander winger....
I watched the Rugby 7s W Cup (which we won again of course) and all I could think was ‘our recruitment should be chasing big fast Fijian wingers’ these pure Breds make Radradra look like Montoya

More garbage. Georgallis has done a great job since taking over and a lot of our players that have come through have transitioned well. His work last season with the side was extremely impressive with what he had to work with. Pay is far more at fault with current issues than him.
If you say it's garbage then your probably right. You seem to understand and write a lot of it.

Ok so we have Graham. Would you swap O'Meley, Mason, Britt, Pay, SBW, Miles, Langmack, Folks Gillespie, Price, Smith brothers, Klemmer, to name a few for Graham?

Vagana was great. He lives in my street. Shame he only played for us for 3 years.
Omeley came from Northern Eagles and had already played state of origin when we got him.

Meaney and Cogger may play on Friday for Knights as Watson and Ponga battle injury.

Actually there are some Africans (slowly) starting to come through the game as well. Not racially stereotyping, but most of them tend to be very athletically built.

I know we have Muong Dut at the club in Shield/Flegg.

rumours that Cogger and/or Meaney may get another chance. Watson and Ponga didn't finish training....

Why would Brown bring in a kid who according to some on here can't tackle, doesn't position himself properly and is a long way short of being a FG player? He must be the worst coach in the history of footy.....It's not like they don't have Watson there who can do the job.
That's because some people pass, judgement,I've seen 5 of his games so far,and has improved each time, was very solid again against the panthers, positional play very good ,took the high ball well, could turn out to be a very good buy

Cogger isn't winning them games, nor was Brock Lamb.

Meaney is a while off first grade and is being played out of necessity because they NEED to win games, and as such Watson and Pearce are the best halves combination to do so.

They only have 3 specialist fullbacks at the club: Cooper, Meaney and Ponga. Cooper isn't ready yet. The rest are wingers/centres who can play fullback. Even Tex Hoy can play fullback.

As I specifically stated, and you obviously decided to overlook, Meaney was picked because he is their ONLY option, not because he is their best option.

This is all assuming that Brown doesn't make a change and play RossDog (who is just back from a groin injury so fullback may stress him) at fullback and Meaney off the bench.

Come back Friday night and tell me how well you thought he went... because I damn sure will.
You obviously base your opinion on what,he has been a standout in isp,has been named fullback of the year last 2 years, isp cup,and under 20,has played very well when given an opportunity, and had Avery good game against the panthers.

Yes i see a lot of potential in this kid, guess the same was said about The Prince now their all quiet about lewis. Have a feeling Meaney willbring more energy and enthusiasm to the team and some speed. Good signing

Wasn’t impressed so far. But showed some real promise today. His contact isn’t great but being only 20 a few kilos in the off season will help that.

Played well today, but needs to put on some size. Also one error which lead directly to a try.

I still don't see him as a better option than Hoppa (or getting Barba back).

C'mon Mr I, how many fullbacks are perfect and don't make mistakes?
Even Billy Slater, Tedesco and Ponga all make mistakes that lead to tries let alone a 20yr old rookie who would be on a tenth of what these superstars are earning.
They're all human and they ALL make mistakes!
Some people are hard to please on this site...

Ye everybody knocks hoppa, but he's been one of our most consistent players this year, and remember Barba had similar issues, early in his career.

Hoppa is another overpaid hasler flop. Gets exposed and is well contained against quality sides. He has been going ok the last 2-3 weeks but we’ve either lost or defeated sides badly out of form. We haven’t won because of him but we’ve lost many while he was at the back.

Haven’t seen Meaney play but sounds like another “quality” signing. We’ll wait and see.
