With Dean Pay's departure from Canterbury on Tuesday, the lack of coaching certainty had the potential to undermine their pursuit of Cotric, but the Bulldogs have reassured him the chance to play centre remains from next year.

Does anyone else find this at least a little concerning? Someone high up in the club is guaranteeing Cotric a centre spot even though the coach for next season hasn't been decided yet. Who is this mystery person who can make that call, and how is the new coach going to feel that at least one position in his team has already been picked for him? How many other positions have already been locked in?
Not really. We don't have one NRL standard centre at the club.

Now we need a hooker, and a half then this teams looking good. Burton and we have to try snap a hooker from somewhere, even Ben hunt wouldn’t be a bad shout.

What’s happening with Dufty

DWZ either plays wing and cotric plays centre

Or

Cotric plays wing DWZ centre

Seeing how shit DWZ has been they may want him on the wing but i think he can be strong at centre

It's either you know who or the coach has already been decided...but signing Cotric is sort of a no brainer imo, we need an explosive centre and Cotric is the best option on the market. There's risk there as he has limited experience in the role at NRL level but unfortunately for us we're in a position where we need to take risks.

Credit to Cotric and Thompson for making the jump before anyone else, especially to a bottom placed team with coaching uncertainty.

I know they got paid well, but most players nowadays want the easy way out or to only play for a handful of clubs..

It's speaks to Cotric and Thompson's character that they're willing to take on a challenge and prove themselves in a bigger role.
I have a gut feeling that they were told that Pay is gone next year to help get them over the line.

One can even use Cotric finally signing as some evidence to that.

DWZ looks like he could be a solid hole running centre, but really he's an out and out winger. At his best he's a world-class winger so just keep him there, dumb down his role and clearly spell out to him what he needs to do each game. A winger that averages around 200m a game, a couple of offloads, a couple of tackle breaks and finishes well is very valuable on the wing...just needs to reduce the errors.

I like Schoupp aswell left centre predominantly, but he had a post on his insta saying to his mate he was a "flying winger" lol hopefully that's not the case

There’s no way we signed cotric to play wing. The DWZ and Cotric combo sounds nice

Now we finally have a vision to sell other players.. We changed coaches.. We've already signed Thompson and Cotric and have tonnes of cap space this year and next year... And you'll get to start or play more minutes..

Surely those two signings and the confirmation of Barrett give other targets more confidence in signing now.
