Movie Discussion

Nope, it's not. Laughed a few times, more so with a few unexpected cameos like Eminem and Christopher McDonald was great, but overall it's just another product for Sandler to put his family into and get paid for it, which I can't deride him for but I should have known better than to watch it
Sorry to hear. Adam Sandler movies are either great or terrible. There seems to be no in between. I will still watch but like you not expecting much. I want to see Shooter McGavin - he was a funny character. Played a good bad guy.

Finally watched the new Superman movie. It has done well in the reviews but I still didn't get my hopes up. Figured it would be average at best. Fortunately I was wrong.

Honestly has to be my favourite Superman movie. The story, the directing, the characters, all really well done. Just a really entertaining Superman movie. And it really sets up for season 2 of Peacemaker.

Watched Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, was a solid movie but I prefer the first as it has better action and felt way more realistic.

James Gunn is a great director and gets story structure really well

Adam Sandler's best film in my opinion was The Wedding Singer, but other good ones include Billy Maddison, Bulletproof, Happy Gilmore, Mr Deeds. A few others, but those are the main ones from his golden days (1995-2005).

Billy Maddison is my favourite, but Little Nicky is up there with the best.

Granted, there are a few from that era that I haven't seen - Little Nicky being one of them - and Big Daddy.

The Waterboy had some good moments in it, when The Big Show laughed at him on live TV, and when Coach Klein launched something out the window that hit Colonel Sanders :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

An interesting horror movie. The non-spoiler plot is that an entire class (excluding one child) go missing. They all randomly run out of their homes around 2am. Police and parents search but no one can figure out what happened to them.

It's an interesting delivery method. I thought there would be a big lead up to the event, but instead the first 5 minutes of the movie is a kid narrating the event explaining what happened. Then the movie takes an episodic approach which I normally hate, but it worked pretty well here. It starts focused on what happened to the teacher shortly after the event. Basically how the parents blame her for it and how she deals with that. Then it switches to other characters and what happened to them around the event.

The movie has had heavy praise and while I didn't think it was revolutionary, it still is a very good movie that will stick in my mind for a while. Stephen King gave it a lot of praise, which makes sense because it very much feels like a Stephen King movie. Even to the point that one of the characters feels like she was influenced by a famous Stephen King character.

Definitely recommend. Just don't go in expecting it to be amazing. It's an interesting horror movie that's well worth the watch.

Haha. Yeah, that cracked me up.

Admittedly that's part of why I only gave it 8/10. At times I phased out 'cause it just got a bit boring. Approaching the ending I probably would have given it a 6/10. After the ending it was a 7/10. I upped it to 8/10 'cause it stuck in my head and I woke up and 3am thinking about it. That's the sign of a well written movie.

Just watch Conjuring: Last Rites now. Hopefully its not a dud.

What is everyone’s favourite boss battle in the FILM industry? I can’t go past Lethal Weapon 4, the build
Up, the age finally catching up to even Riggs. The brutality, the rain, the lack of music, the time. Cinema

Watched it on Netflix due to it leaving Netflix at the end of the month.

I remember seeing trailer for this movie and didn't think too much of it. 20 minutes into the movie I'm liking it, and then they go to Sydney and the rest of the movie takes place in Sydney. I completely forgot they shut down half of Sydney to film this.

Based on what I heard about this movie, I was expecting a dead average movie. Turned out to be so much better than I expected. It's really corny and full of deliberate cliches, and 4th wall breaks. But it's really entertaining. It doesn't take itself serious at all and that works really well for it.

The only downside is that the extra actors are basically like actors you see in every early 2000s Jackie Chan movie shot in Australia. They can't act and they all have to put on the thickest fake Aussie accent you have ever heard. But I think that's deliberate as they really don't want you to take anything about the movie seriously.

Really enjoyable movie

No my man you’re thinking of Lily Phillips, aka Bonnie Blue. The actress in the movie is Emily Blunt, but gee in that pic she does look a little similar to Blue. Here is a tip to tell if it’s Phillips, she carts her um, ‘lips’, around in a wheelbarrow.

Watched Eden on netfix recently was good Sydney Sweeny... giddy up..
