The Wrong Missy

Tim thinks he's invited the woman of his dreams on a work retreat to Hawaii, realizing too late he mistakenly texted someone from a nightmare blind date.

If you watch this movie, the crazy:hot chart goes out the window. Melissa (Missy) is hideously ugly and just as crazy. She is hyper-active, has no language filter, and is completely oblivious to how her action affect other people. I have no idea what the hell possessed me to watch this movie, but it was honestly a waste of time.

Don't bother.

Disaster strikes when a man invites his dream girl to an island resort -- but a previous blind date shows up instead.

OK, I usually steer well clear of anything new released under Happy Madison productions, or anything with David Spade, Rob Schneider or any or Adam Sandler's groupies, but for some unknown reason I actually sat down and watched this and it didn't suck, and to my own astoundment I actually laughed - more than once.
In saying that, it still isn't good by any stretch of the imagination, but credit where it's due it had some decent jokes

The only thing I found funny about this movie was the shadow acting bit.

Agreed. I enjoyed American Ultra but I honestly can't think of another movie she was in that was half decent.

Funny thing about American Ultra is that I really dislike both the main actors, but I enjoyed the movie.
I agree American Ultra was a classic.

So is The Runaways, Still Alice & Panic Room.

A bit harsh imo.

It had its moments

(then again, I was really high when I watched it)

Bloodshot

I fully expected to hate this movie. I mean, Vin Diesel is a crap actor and everything about this looks stupid. But I actually enjoyed it.

It's nothing special. It pulls out every cliche it can. The twist was kind of predictable but still a good one, and the ending felt like the ending of every action movie that desperately wants a sequal. In fact I would say this movie feels more like a pilot for a TV series than a full on movie. The main woman in the film was obvious hired for her looks more than anything else. This is one of those movies you watch as a kid then run out in the backyard and fight with your friend over who gets to be the hero.

But the action scenes are great. The story is decent enough (even if the fail to explain much of it). One of the support characters is entertaining as even if he only gets a fairly brief role. And at the end of the movie I found myself satisfied.

It's shallow and won't win any awards, but worth the watch.

Get Hard

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2561572/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

When millionaire James King is jailed for fraud and bound for San Quentin, he turns to Darnell Lewis to prep him to go behind bars.

This is a very typical Will Ferrell movie crossed with a very typical Kevin Hart movie. The description describes it fairly well. Well Ferrell's character is his typical softie, hence the movie title. Kevin Hart is pretty funny in this film as you would expect. Over the space of 30 days, they turn James King's house into a makeshift prison and simulate situations that he would come across. It doesn't ever seem to work for him as he remains a softie, and that's when they decide to take the situation into their own hands.

Not a bad film, worth the worth for a laugh.

Take Me

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6598626/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Ray is a fledgling entrepreneur who specializes in high-end simulated abductions. He jumps at the chance when a mysterious client contracts him for a weekend kidnapping with a handsome payday at the end. But the job isn't all that it seems.

I have no idea what possessed me to watch this movie, it has less than half a dozen characters. So get this. The guy is a professional kidnapper, meaning people pay him to kidnap them in order for him to help them achieve whatever. Then a lady pays him to kidnap her for the thrill. He does so, but as the movie progresses, she convinces him that she didn't arrange this, leading us to believe that someone else did. Ray eventually believes her, however he doesn't know what to do because if he lets get go, she might go to the police. Then she manages to turn the tables on him and hold him up with a gun and force him into the boot of her car. When she gets to her destination, she lets him and thanks him for the thrill... so she was in on it all along. There are far too many plot hole, a stupid wig, as well a number of other things for this movie to be believable, but hey, A for effort, right?

Undercover Grandpa

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3891538/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

When the girl he likes goes missing, Jake enlists the help of his grandpa and Grandpa's former special ops buddies.

It's been years since I watched a good James Caan film, so I thought I'd check this out. It's ok, it's meant to be a comedy but it hits the old people stereotype on far too many occasions. There's probably about 1 or 2 times in this movie where you'd actually laugh. Greta Onieogou looked damn fine in this movie, but it's hard to believe that she was meant to be playing a character about 7 or 8 years younger than she actually was. It had it funny moments but the old people stereotype really being overused was it's eventual downfall for me.

Money

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6468322/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

Two corporate spies with a $5 million haul for selling secrets are held hostage by a thief, triggering a game of cat and mouse to gain the upper hand.

2 couples enjoying a nice dinner together are interrupted by a well dressed, well mannered, well educated man with an English accent who knocks on their door. He comes bearing a very expensive bottle of wine and introduces himself as their new neighbor from across the lake. Not wanting to be rude and turn him away, they ask him to join them. As he joins in their conversation asking about them and what they do, he suddenly takes charge of the conversation, and everyone starts to realise things have taken a turn. Before they know it, they realise he's an armed, dangerous, and highly-skilled Spy who has come to retrieve information. The 2 men who work at the some company have been selling highly detailed and sensitive information, committing International Espionage. With the classified information sold, the man has come to collect the $5,000,000 they made from selling this information, and is willing to kill to get it. Though he is highly skilled, he underestimates the one of the women their and gets taken down by a combination of pepper spray, brute force, and losing control of his gun. They tie him up at gunpoint and try to figure out what to do with him. While this is all happening, he still manages to find a way to escape with half the money. How? Well... I won't ruin it for you.

Bottom of the World

Untitled.png

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2337841/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

The mysterious disappearance of a young woman leads her boyfriend on a journey for truth and perhaps his own unknown reality in this dark, hypnotic mystery that transcends the limitations of traditional narrative.

I have no idea what possessed me to watch this shit, as soon as it had finished, I still couldn't figure out what the hell had happened.

Even David Spade looks uninterested in the poster.

Well I've been deciding to look at a few movies that weren't your typical soulless Hollywood crap.

Instead, they were the type of crap the showed us which directors are never going to get the chance to direct soulless Hollywood crap because of how crap they are.

If you want to watch something so bad you'll question everything you believe in, then let me present to you this monstrosity.

A hitman must prove his loyalty to his mentor and best friend, while his girlfriend wants to leave the business behind them.

This is one of those movies that got pumped up by fake reviews on imdb, and a lot of people fell for it hook line and sinker (myself included)

Nothing in this ego piece masquerading as a motion picture works, the acting is below z grade porn level, you would find better production values on a smartphone (from memory more than a few scenes had the boom mic visable)
The plot has been done a million times before, only infinitely better and it looks like it was written by a 12 year old with no concept or knowledge of anything remotely close to story structure.

I'm one of those people who stick out a movie till the bitter end, I couldn't do it with this piece of cow dung.

After this review, I'd really like to hear your take on The Delivery Boy (on Netflix)
