Is there any truth to the rumour that Moore and Dymock have not been speaking much since the start of year?
Also todays press have said that whole coaching staff including Dymock, Kimmorley and Patmore will go. If the dogs sign Stuart will Dymocks good relationship with Stuart keep him at the dogs or is Dean Pay the new assistant?

IT COULD be a scene cut straight from the Godfather trilogy.

Bulldogs coach Kevin Moore, the son of the late great Canterbury patriarch Peter "Bullfrog" Moore, is under fire from some of the family club's closest confidants.

The power clique within one of the NRL's most successful clubs is intrinsic, complex and ruthless.

They might have had the bye last weekend, but the Dogs board has been in overdrive ahead of today's clash with Cronulla at ANZ Stadium.

Anything less than a top-four finish will mean Moore is moved on, with club powerbrokers pushing to install NSW Origin coach Ricky Stuart for next season.

And it's not just Moore under pressure. His assistants Jim Dymock, Brett Kimmorley and Toyota Cup coach Andy Patmore are all being held accountable, too.

Cutthroat? Absolutely. It's why the Bulldogs have a reputation as one of the best clubs of the modern era, winning four premierships in the past 30 years. NOTE: We have actually won 6 premierships since 1980

So who calls the shots at Canterbury? And who has put Moore's head on the chopping block when he still has a year to run on his contract?

The Bulldogs' board of directors boasts some of rugby league's most influential and well-connected individuals, headed by chairman Ray Dib and senior statesman Arthur Coorey.

Add in former players Andrew Farrar, Anthony Elias, Barry Ward, Paul Dunn and Phil Charlton and you have arguably the NRL's most can-do football administrators.

As is always the case for the family club, there is six degrees of separation for the main players.

Dib and Moore went to the same high school, Moore is the godfather to one of Ward's daughters and 'Bluey' Elias and the top-grade coach are great mates who played junior footy together.

Coorey has enjoyed a 40-year association with the Bulldogs.

He and his brother George Coorey were on the board from 1994 to 2002, when the salary-cap scandal blew up.

Back in the fold since 2008, Arthur Coorey is an old-school administrator who can open many political doors.

Historically, he has conducted business with an iron fist.

And the man who educated them is one of the all-time great characters, "Bullfrog" Moore. So to axe his son would be a brutal call, especially when you consider the Dogs have never sacked a coach under contract, dating back to their opening season in 1935.

"No one sets higher expectations for the Bulldogs than ourselves," Bulldogs CEO Todd Greenberg said.

"We're all in this together and everyone's equally accountable, from the chairman, myself, our board of directors all the way through.

"Leadership is about lifting people up, not tearing them down. And the best way to get out of any tough period is to work hard and stick together and that's what we'll do.

"We're all accountable for our wins and losses at the Bulldogs, not just one person.

"At the midway point of the season, we're six and six. We're in the eight and, by our own admission and our own standards, probably not where we want to be. But ultimately we work in a results-based business and we will be judged on how we respond over the next few months."

Since taking the helm in 2009, Moore has compiled 34 wins and 28 losses from 62 games, for a winning percentage of 54.8.

But scratch a little deeper this season and what has put him squarely in the crosshairs is the Bulldogs' high expectations after landing some big-name recruits.

The one thing working in the Bulldogs' favour is the close-knit bond they all share at the family club. If the directors do decide to go another way, Moore will walk away with dignity rather than create upheaval.

Still, it will be a huge call to end his term one year early.

This article sounds like a "Dorothy Dixer". In parliament someone asks a question which is meant to be a way for his own party to answer and make a point. This article allows Todd to say that it's not Kevin's fault and share the blame. The reality is that this has been coming for some time. Last year Kimmorley took control and we played flat football with negative results. There was some hope when he retired we would get a deep backline again but they took him on as coach to the new halves. Bottom line is our "boom" halves are now crap.

Our dummy half looks up from the play the ball and everyone is flat so the only choice is to pass it to an inside running forward. Not creative much!

I would too, why let a season go when there is time enough to be a part of the finals. It would be different if we were showing signs of competing but I would now assume after the worst lost this season that all is in agreence that we are gone unless something changes!

Kimmorley has to go. His flat dud style that he killed our club with last year is running off on our current halves.

Umm... If moore gets sacked then Patmore and BK would go along with him...

If Moore stays on as coach then thats how it will be with Patmore as assistant and BK as u20s coach...

Now that Elliot has stood down for the rest of the year he has now suddenly come into calculations along with Stuart.

Lets not forget that Hasler should still be in consideration after he has stated he his open to offers after this year.
