Monty ruled out for six weeks?

Its not about the best 6 tho. Its sometimes about getting the best players in a 17 man team.

Eg

We could have:

Galvin and Burton at centre
Or
Burton and Taafe/Enari at centre

I think its pretty obvious what the best team for a game with a player who is unavailable thru injury is.

But that's just my thoughts.

The point of my post is ....
We have the Dally M 2021 Centre of the Year and some people are saying he isn't any good as a centre.

Those were the same ppl harping on about Tuala not being selected in previous rounds… but when Tuala finally gets his chance but doesn’t have a blinder… the same ppl are calling for his axing in favour of Wilson of all players LOL.

Don’t get me wrong, Wilson is fast and athletic but he doesn’t really trouble the opposition much from what I’ve seen and concedes more tries than he scores. Solid at best.

Not saying Tuala is necessarily better but geez give the guy more than 1 game to prove himself LOL.

Metres per run about the same though with Tuala slightly ahead. So basically no difference there.

Give the bloke a few games before writing him off. Lots were calling for him to be in the side several rounds ago. The they got their wish and now they not good enough after a single match LOL.

Tuala wasn’t amazing but wasn’t terrible either.

Monty was poor bro. I just looked at Stats.
MM runs 12 - run metres 80 - PCM 12m - Tackle Breaks 5 - play the ball speed 3.21 - Miss Tackled 3
ET runs 21 - run metres 179 - PCM 52m - Tackle breaks 1 - play the ball speed 4.18s - Miss tackles 0
And he's been playing busted.

There is a saying: 'Be careful of what you wish for...'

Support the team no matter who is named in the side.

Bloody flops.
Every player that has busted their arse this season to get us where we are deserves more respect than most of them get on here and Monty is definitely one of those players IMO

Yeah that is why I posted it, to show enari should get decent run meters, hopefully there won't be a lot of difference. It should be noted that Monty was playing injured against the Broncos though, that is why his figures were down( I didn't know that when I posted those stats earlier)

This one hurts abit, Monty has been playing well this year. Some times I think it would of been good to have kept Skelton, from memory he signed with tigers before Addo-Carr got the sack.

I'd personally just throw Sua in, he's at least already made his debut and is physically more developed. He can also break a damn tackle and make a line break :tearsofjoy:
100% especially lining up against Derby

Utilities were crazy experiments too right ?

Thank God for that experiment. I feel as though CC has taken the Origin period as a chance to play around with positions and combos so come finals time if there are any injuries etc he’ll have an idea of what May or may not work.

We were first until like 2 weeks ago. Injuries, origin and Form slump were inevitable, good thing is it’s all happened at once and also at a pretty decent time.

The bounce back will happen soon when all our reinforcements are back.

Who's to say we wouldn't have lost regardless ?

I’ve not seen Jethro in action with the exception of 1 trial game earlier this year, is the sentiment that he’s quicker than Wilson? If so, that’s some serious pace, Wilson’s no slouch.
he may be quicker but is,a turnstyle .. his, defence is rubbish

For crying out loud NO!

On no planet should Burton be anywhere near the centres for the rest of the season. You blokes got what you wanted last week, remind me how it went..
ok so you're happy with wilson or tuala? defensive powerhouses?

Happy with either one not fussed. You don’t move your best 5/8 that simple
the 5/8 that won dally m center of the year and a premiership playing there? as well as a blues jersey?

Outside of Cleary and Luai sure…neither Galvin/Sexton are near that quality. Nup I’ll keep the best 5/8 in Burton at 6.

Wilson is bettercthan people give him credit for
He’s been defensively poorer than Rinakama in cup when playing wing, and both have too many errors in them this year, with Rinakama worse for that, but that doesn’t make Wilson’s any good unfortunately.

Coaching staff have gone with alternatives to Wilson lately, for these reasons. He’s also not contracted next year. Sure, some people can go over the top with their assessments, but I’m confident they see him as a risky option at the moment. Hopefully his form improves.
