I watched the game last night between a struggling broncos and a pathetic Eels and amongst all of that I couldn't help but notice the performances of all 4 wingers on the field compared to Montoya. The speed of French, Jennings and Isaako, the power of Oates, the physicality that all 4 put into the game, their positioning in defence and their backing up in attack were the highlight of the game for me. Given that 2 of them are rookie wingers and the other two under 25 I would think I just can't see how Montoya is in the same class nor will he ever be in the same class as those 4 blokes and the really sad thing is that they are not in the top 4 wingers in the comp.

It’s been our problem for a while. We signed suli for that problem but that didn’t work. We just are not blessed with gun wingers and not since I can remember we have had a very strong back line

Our options are limited but Pay is not doing him any favours leaving him in first grade. Back to reserves, find some form, build some confidence, then have another crack.

Honestly who was our last gun winger?

We got Brett Morris when he was past his best.

Honestly the last one I can think of was Brett Dallas... LOL.

Please tell me there has been someone in the last 18 years...

Utai was arguably the best winger in the world for a a period of about 12-24 months during his career.

he was a forward who played like a winger in a body of a midget.

and what happened that he became so shit?
These days wingers need to be tall. That's why towards the end of his career the Tigers used him as a utility forward off the bench.

Anyway... no one seems to be listening to my suggestion of going to Fiji and coming back with a winger like plenty of NRL clubs have done!

Mate, in retrospect I'm not sure he was all that great last year. I think it was just that everyone was so down on Holland a one legged cowgirl would've been seen as an improvement and given Montoya is Fijian and a junior he just had to be better. The kid has no acceleration, not a lot of speed and can't seem to make the right decisions in defence. That hasn't changed really.
